Fordpass App v5.0.0 has improvements however some features from the prior version are not in the FordPass App V5.0.0 current version including:

1. The extended warranty info
2. The owners manual
3. Ability to enter your own service info
4. Some owners report Location shown in FordPass App v5.0.0 is not accurate or takes a long time to update

What else have you found is missing or is poorly implemented?

There are workarounds for now for some of the issues I listed:

1. ESP info: keep that on the phone so can easily refer to the same ESP info that was in the prior FordPass App version

2. owners manual: keep the links to the online owners manual on the phone next to the FordPass App along with other useful links to service info, Ford’s how to info, NHTSA VIN recall info, etc.

3. Service info: keep manual (paper or electronic) records if needed.

4. Location shown in FordPass App v5.0.0: no known solution yet for those owners reporting Location shown in FordPass App v5.0.0 is not accurate or takes a long time to update

Mine auto updated on both my phone and wife's phone. We have three vehicle's on the app and have had no issues. Both using Android phones.

Sounds like some of you need to switch to Android.

No issues on my iphone. Both the app and iOS are up to date however when the app updated a couple of days ago, it showed my vehicle in the wrong location but today it's showing it in the correct location. Strange.

Nah Ford fixed the issues in FordPass App v5.0.1.

If you are having problems with FordPass App and your iPhone (e.g. unable to move past the welcome screen):

Update to FordPass App v5.0.1 for iPhone.

App sucks. I tried using the beta version, which worked better for me, for a while and could never get used to it. Too many clicks to get anywhere. Nothing about the new interface is easier, quicker, or more appealing to the eye.

The App works fine for me but the old app had the gas gauge reading. No big deal but it was nice to have as well as the less clicks

Did you ever get Location working?
It works perfectly when I’m driving and stop at different locations but when I park in my underground garage the Google map still pinpoints my correct location but the description below has me about 20-30 kms away in a different town. It actually worked once when I parked in my garage but has since reverted back to the first incorrect location.

Perhaps is the underground garage that is preventing an accurate FordPass App GPS Location.

The time it worked might be due to having GPS just before or just after entering the underground garage and Location was able to update on Google Maps.

Try having Google Maps active on your phone and tracking before entering the garage then later on check Location in the FordPass App - it might “remember” and will display correctly.

Also try this: When Location in FordPass App is incorrect, find the two small icons at lower right that look like the pic. Click on the car icon to locate your vehicle and click on the "circle" icon to reposition map to your location. Without GPS however, FordPass App probably will not show an accurate Location.

Thanks! I’ll give it a try. BTW, whatever system FordPass was using prior to this update showed my vehicle in the correct location when in my garage.

Yes you are correct but now the FordPass App v5.x.x uses Google Maps

You can see the Open Source software (licenses) used by the FordPass App on an iPhone. I’m on FordPass App v5.0.1 and these are the licenses used in that version:

For me, when I open the app and click Vehicle in the bottom row, it shows a screen where it has the miles to empty but just above that it has the odometer reading.
Is "Range" the same as miles to empty?
