Thanks for reporting in! My dealer can't even look at it until Dec 20th for some unknown reason. Really annoying! Hope your dealer can resolve it on Friday!

During the 50 minutes, besides seeing the sync restarts (which are normal), do you remember seeing any other messages and also did you perform the key cycle procedure following giving up?….
-did see sync restart several times but after 50 min I gave up
I tried the key cycle. With same result. Now I’ve driven it to work and it’s the same. Will keep you guys update on what the dealer will sayDuring the 50 minutes, besides seeing the sync restarts (which are normal), do you remember seeing any other messages and also did you perform the key cycle procedure following giving up?
There are serveral variations of the key cycle procedure, here is one variation you can try:
key cycle procedure:
. Stop driving
. Ignition OFF / Stop
. Open and close driver's door and lock it
. Wait at least 2 minutes (ensure SYNC Display shuts off)
. Unlock / open driver's door
. Ignition ON / Start
The vehicle software update is now completed.
And here are slightly different key cycle procedure steps:
Perform a Key Cycle:
https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/sync/troubleshooting/how-do-i-perform-a-key-cycle/
1. Turn off vehicle.
2. Open driver’s door.
3. Lock driver’s door (electrical pushbutton).
4. Close driver’s door.
5. Start vehicle (will hear 2 beeps).
6. Wait two minutes for completion and ensure the radio display turns off completely.
Yeah that’s sometimes the case according to what others have said and you saved a trip to the dealershipLatest update. I got it working. Decided to push update again. Was on for about 1hour and 20 min. Then I thought it failed (had black screen again) I pressed power+seek forward and this time voila it came up.
I think I will disable it. Amount of headache this has caused, I don’t mind driving around with older software. Only if I got a car in dealership for something else, I would ask to update to new version.Yeah that’s sometimes the case according to what others have said and you saved a trip to the dealership
now you have to decide if you want to disable automatic software updates but there’s pros and cons with either approach
Ver3.4What build version of Sync do you now have installed?

First go to the Settings on your 8” Display and find the screen to check for software updates. See if says you have SYNC 3, Software Version: 3.4 Build 23188 PRODUCTSo I went to the Ford site to download the update but it told me that I already had the latest and gave me no options to download. Does anyone know how I could get the software?
Unfortunately I cant use my display, it is stuck on the small screen and is unresponsive. On the Ford site it says my version is: 3.4.23188 .First go to the Settings on your 8” Display and find the screen to check for software updates. If not let us know which version you have
Based on how the Ford site has been since 23188 was released, your vehicle could have received a partial install of 23188Unfortunately I cant use my display, it is stuck on the small screen and is unresponsive. On the Ford site it says my version is: 3.4.23188 .
Thanks for your time,

I still have the original downloaded zip file on my hard drive for the update. The only problem is it is 2.2Gb in size.
