In the past i made a post about my 21 sport base model water pump . So i recently made an appointment at my local Ford for service shop. Appt was July 31 , for 3 open recalls , including fuel injectors , 2 software updates also I was losing coolant for the 3rd time , seems to only happen in summer . My car has been a week now. I'm beyond upset. No one at the shop speaks to me about what is going on , when I might get the car back . I've called 4 times , even went down there yesterday . I had received a call last Saturday. today is Tuesday. They told me they ordered parts , why wait 5 business days ? Could I have not just brought my car back , I had an appt for Tuesday, the recalls were known . Still waiting, also my service advisor had to go out for surgery. I guess in this case that means the car gets shelved.
While I stopped in yesterday, they said they put a new water pump in . Nothing about what the problem with the pump was , did they stress test the car ? Why was a new pump needed , I just had one put in at 17k , now we're at 43 k , are they only rated for 20k miles ? What's the issue ?
I had asked them to check my front pads but that doesn't take this long . This is the 7th business day it is there , with hardly a word on anything , just 'this stuff can take time , software updates take time ' getting the fuel injectors takes time ' , . Over a week ?! No loaner , apparently you don't get one for recalls unless you buy the car there , as per ford servie agent.
I'm pretty upset at the , from my.perspective , lack of communication from my local ford dealer while my car is there . And the amount of time I've been without a car and zero concern from Ford.

Also my front passenger window doesn't go down most of the time, or goes down and gets stuck , but i don't even care about that at this point.

This is unfortunate. The dealership is dropping the ball sounds like. But this isn't Ford's issue, sorry to say. Dealers are independent enterprises that have limited responsibilities to answering to Ford and Ford has limited remedies to such complaints and concerns.

In the simplest terms the dealership is a contractor supplying labor and facility while Ford supplies parts and information to effect the repair. If the repair is warranty Ford pays the dealer.

But bottom line... dealership needs to answer your questions and deliver some customer service. I would be standing in front of the general manager, calmly, explaining my frustrations with the experience. If he's worth a spit he'll listen and make some things happen so you can feel heard and know what is happening.

That's true , I will be going to a different dealership , was going to have them do the brake pads but at this point I can't justify giving them work . Service advisor just called me and flat out lied to me. Yesterday I was there I clearly saw the car on the lift , front tires off , hood popped , mechanic appeared to be working , service advisor yesterday said water pump and injectors are done . Today he called me late in the day to tell me the info he gave me yesterday not be correct , as the mechanic called out sick yesterday and today . So I'm at a loss of words. Tomorrow il go there, hopefully speak to some one in charge and ask for the car back . Regardless of the work they have done or did not do . To me a dealership should be a reflection of Ford , all my past experiences have been positive untill now. I get their each run differently I've learned my lesson . Tomorrow will be day 9 , 3 recalls. Check the water pump and fix window , plus inspection .
Another note what it going on with the water pump issue? This is the second one , just bad luck ?

The water pump was replaced . 2nd one . Let's see how long this one lasts. Seems its just some bad luck . Since not many have experienced same as me . Also I noticed a problem with the rear end . Best I can describe is like a stutter / shudder, very rare but I've felt it. Service advisor told me Ford is working a fix , has to do with rear end differential. There' must be at least 7 recalls already and more to come .

I wonder if the replacement Auto Parts Store Water Pumps could be better than the Ford Water Pumps if your Warranty is up?

There is another thread floating on this site about a new procedure that Ford is supposed to do when changing a water pump. Its recommended by Ford that the entire cooling system be flushed prior to the new water pump being installed. Something about sand casting (with the old and replacement pump manufacturing) that could be in the part that causes premature failure of the second pump if the flush is not done.

Sounds like you need to find a new dealership.
Showing my age, this statement reminded me of Bullwinkle: "I gotta get me a new hat".

THIS ^^^ I had read the same. Leftover sand, from the casting process, getting sucked through the water pump is ridiculous. Who knows what other havoc this may be causing...

Good idea , but the are covering the water pump , I've 44k miles. Also now I told them my rear is dragging or shuddering when I first start to drive the car and have to turn slowly and seems it's getting worse. Luckily I mentioned it to them when I had it at dealer for water pump . They said they ordered parts for the rear diff. Or maybe just diff. When I find out the parts il post here. It's going in Tuesday. I've read it's somewhat common in a 21 model.
