Does anyone at FOMOCO know how to handle recalls?
$165 Million fine.
Let's see, buy 457,000 AGM batteries, Volume discount..$100 each and $100 shop time to install.
That's $91.4 Mil and possibly no fine. And still leaves $73.6 Mil to put toward the next disaster.
Owning a BS makes me nervous, if I was a FoMoCo shareholder, I would be really, really nervous.

Yea a $165 million fine by the U.S. government for Ford moving too slowly on the faulty rear-view cameras (not applicable to Bronco Sports) and failing to give accurate recall information to the NHTSA is the second-largest civil penalty in NHTSAs 54-year history.

My wife's 2022 bronco sport just had this problem. The battery tested bad. Her VIN didn't pop up as one effected by the recall.

It did the auto stop and wouldn't restart without her pushing the button. A few days later it barely started pushing the button so we got it to the dealer.

And it was at 37K so no longer in the bumper to bumper warranty. It cost $300 and change for a new battery. A battery which comes with a 3 year warranty; but, the battery in it that wasn't 3 years old was out of warranty because of the mileage.

The local auto parts stores had cheaper batteries; but, said the car woudln't start if they put it in because it needs a special machine to calibrate the battery.

The key words in that response are "moving too slowly".

Kind of wish they would show some urgency on the portions of the BS that can and will affect the safety of the vehicle, I.E. brakes (rear) and the RDU.

It seems like it takes several deaths caused by an issue to move from a TSB to a full recall.

Thanks. I'll be honest the battery at the non-dealer was only $20 less. In this particular case the $20 more at the dealer was worth the headache of trying to do it on my own.

It did just occur to me that I'm not sure if the dealer even did the reset. They told me because they were using a Ford Battery already calibrated to our car a reset wasn't necessary.

How can I tell (without doing another reset) if it was done.

That's some Grade A bullshit right there. A 'calibrated battery'?!

Sometimes it seems stealership employees actually prefer to lie, rather than just be truthful:

"For a few dollars more, you can get this nuclear fusion battery -- pre-calibrated and guarantied to last 100 years! It can even power your house in an outage..."

You need to do the reset and it’s super easy for you to do. See the BMS Reset instructions in prior posts.

more I read these less I want to go get the recall done.

However, I assume there are plenty of people out there with perfectly fine BS and then had the recall done and continue to be fine???

But, just last week I had an interesting message from the car...something about my remote start will temporarily not available. but that message came right at the same time I remote started the car.

I had Recall 24s24 done and an EFB battery installed under warranty a few months after that and no issues with Recall 24s24

We had recall #24S24 done a few months ago and our Badlands is now a Mustang killer that gets 35 mpg!

Sorry, after reading some of the post-recall comments in other threads, I couldn't resist.

Seriously, there was no difference in performance or mileage after the recall. I have noticed that after it is driven, shut off, and sits for a few hours, the battery voltage is slightly higher than before.

Before, it was about 12.60 to 12.64 volts. After, it is 12.65 to 12.72 volts.
