Off topic but this is something else regarding the fog lights. I noticed when driving at night the fog lights turn off when the auto high beams engage and vice versa. The two switch back and forth so that way there's not too much light coming from the vehicle that will blind drivers. That was a very nice design touch. The cornering lights I have yet to see or just haven't noticed.
It's a legal thing. Fog lights are not legal to be on with High Beams in most, if not all, US States.

Maybe so but have been using the fogs with headlights in all my vehicles for many years in NJ and 5 years here in SC and never have been stopped by police.

Lucky you.
When I added fog lights to my '84 VW GTI, the kit came with a relay specifically so that they could be not be on when high beams were on.
In NJ, it is covered in the manual on vehicle inspections. Some states specifically name fog lights, some just include them as Auciliary lights in their vehicle code.

Lately, I am seeing people adding light bars to their cars and driving with them. They are only legal for off-road use in most if not all states.

Light bars, aftermarket lighting of course but fogs, nah, legal or not.

Manufacturers have to build them to meet State laws.
If folks hack their cars to add "Bambi mode" - fogs + High Beams, that's between them and the arresting officer. :)

Here's maybe an interesting side note: I had a 1995 VW GTI VR6. VW manufactured them in Mexico and they were built to meet all of North America standards - US and Canada.
It came with Daylight Running Lights, which were relatively unknown in the US at the time, but mandatory in Canada.
My headlights and tail lights were always lit and I'd frequently have people flashing their lights at me and telling me that my headlights were on in the daytime. I actually liked that the tail lights were also on with the headlights at all times. And I didn't have bulbs burnout either in the 10 years that I owned that car. I recall that VW used Wagner brand headlights at the time.

I understand using fogs all the time is against the law. I've been driving with fog lights on (if equipped) for many decades. Also have never heard from anyone who received a ticket for fog light use. It's a choice I make until I get a warning or ticket. I don't recall ever being flashed because of using my fog lights. Stock fog lights are really not that bright.

It’s using fog lights in combination with your high beams. Not normal fog light use. If you’re driving towards people with your high beams on the last thing they will be flashing you about is your fog lights also being on. Unless you have manually disabled the normal feature your fogs will turn off with your high beams.

I didn't touch anything so the fogs should be off with the high beams.

Are the turning lights just the fog lights getting brighter when you turn?
I never really paid any attention when turning but haven't noticed a difference.

No if you have the fog lights off at night and make a turn let’s say to the left, the left fog light will come on as to illuminate the turn. An so forth the right.

Correct. You were replying to @RushMan about never having anyone flash you for fog use and never getting a ticket. His post was about it being illegal to run high beams with fog lights at the same time. There is nothing illegal about running fog lights with your normal headlights. I was just clarifying for you because it sounded like you didn’t understand what his post was referring to.

You are correct. I did misread his post.

Sorry Rushman. :)

Our 23 OBX doesn't have them. Confirmed fogs were off, turning less than 25 MPH, and there were no cornering lights. Maybe I'll try again near a building but would hope They would be obvious during normal driving on a darkish street.

Do you have to be moving for them to come on, or will simply in drive, turn signal on, wheel turned would it come on in my garage? Seems it should since in the video posted above the vehicle was stopped and it was on.
