Things have gone from bad to worse on my flat out installation gr40. After installing from Felix performance trying to adjust the rear heights they’re set initially set at 33.5 and need to increase to 34.5. My second mechanic is unable to do so. There is also massive metal to metal contact on my front suspension . Those front were moved to 34.5 and still have metal to metal co tact. Not sure what the issue with the contact on the front everything seems tight. The front coil overs move the rear do not. It is very difficult to move the coil overs in the rear gr40. I have had no luck contacting flat out only through intermittent email. Hoping someone in the forum can ask flat out to contact me. I probably need a refund for the order because my car is in un drivable now. This suspension is definitely not for a newbie , have to know what you’re doing. But even the experienced mechanic can’t seem to figure out these coil overs.

Victor, I just replied to your email... you are asking us to diagnose something we haven't seen, and didn't install. We have dealers (which you purchased through, and had install) for this very reason. They should be your primary point of contact. They saw the car, they worked on the car, they know exactly what they did during the process. I did not.

I spent time talking with you the other night, after hours, giving you insight on how our Bronco is set up. Prior to purchasing, you spent a collective 4 hours on our chat going back and forth with the same conversation over springs; resisting our advice on experienced use.

Your email from today at 12:41pm:

I went to another mechanic and they are not able to change the setting in the rear it is at 33.5. They keep turning and it is not moving. They keep turning it and it is not increasing. Also there is a lot of metal to metal contact in front , they don’t know what is wrong . Can you help .
My response from today at 2:01pm:

Well, for the rear, I'd have to guess it's because the perches are locked against each other (like a jam nut). Are you having someone familiar with coilovers look at them? That's a very basic adjustment... spin the two collars in opposite directions away from each other to unlock, then spin the larger blue collar to set height, then spin the two collars towards each other to lock.

As for metal contact in front, that is incredibly vague and as I'm not there to see or hear it, it's impossible for me to diagnose over email.

Your dealer & installers contact information: Felix Performance 443-626-4698

Someone on the Maverick truck club installed these with no issues, you might want to register there and ask them about their install, they installed the kit themselves and said they didn't have a lot of experience with suspension work.

Yes but this was with a gr40 on a badlands I don’t think the geometry is the same that is the issue here . I didn’t install it I went with the flat out installation recommended installer Felix performance . The car is in not drivable now and there is metal to metal contact in front. Also we are having a hard time adjusting the coil over on the rear.

Why can't you work with Felix performance to correct the problems? Have they cut you loose?

I am not trying to air bad laundry here but I went with their installers and I live in Rockville Md. Drove an hour to white marsh to go to their installers. I cannot go back because there is so much metal to metal clunking cannot drive the car . I have given it to my mechanic down here hoping he can talk to someone to get this resolved .

It was a GR 40 and geometry is the same. Adjusting ride height with the perches is super super easy btw

The fronts were straightforward. It is the rear that we are having an issue with each side moved differently. Maybe it is an issue with the product I have I don’t know but the rear is not easy to adjust on mine .

To provide more info I have the following springs 14/200 in front and 12/250 in rear. After the install ground to front fender was set at 34 and rear 33.5. So it was too low. The car was thumping the whole way through so the ride height was set too low. We have been now trying to raise the front to at 34.3 and the rear close to 35. But getting the rear to 35 has been extremely hard each side of the coil overs rear right and rear left are turning differently. So maybe there is an issue with the product I got I don’t know. It has not been super easy to move the rear coil over .

This is so confusing... you just rotate the blue perch (directly under the spring) counter clock-wise on either the left or right side height adjuster. You only move the blue perch, not the whole thing the spring is sitting on. If you can't move the ring, it's because the smaller ring directly underneath is locked against it (like a jam nut). They're all made the same, we don't re-invent the wheel every time we make one. Your suspension is identical to mine; except for you having a 1" travel advantage becuase you have a Bad Lands and I have an Outer Banks. Yours is identical to every other Bad Lands GR40 we've made - which is a LOT.

We were able to get the rear lifted but the issue is the drivers side suspension it is still clicking and clunking . As stated your shop set it very low and made the car very difficult to drive, but as stated we were able to lift the rear close to 35. We drove over bumps just on the drivers side and passenger side , and it is specifically on the passenger side. We backed into bumps on the rear and there is no issue. The issue seems to be localized to one part the passenger side . I sent you an email can I get a replacement part on the passenger side. It seems that part is the defective. I went to your recommended shop so there are the ones that installed it.

Yeah, your tech seemed to point to the endlink…from my own experience, I forgot to tighten one of the jam nuts on the endlink myself and I had a clicking over bumps. Check and make sure they are tight. The nut should go against the blue endlink body and get it good and tight. When it’s loose it allows the black head of the endlink to wobble inside of the blue link body. The jam nuts help secure it in place.

There are two nuts per side (on both ends of the blue link body), just make sure you check both. If I remember right, it’s a 19mm. If the endlink is still making noise, I’ll send a set to you.

Not to hate, but seems like user error to me. Whoever installed didn't know what they were doing or was sloppy that day.
