I went with Falkens a couple weeks ago before they aren’t around anymore. I’m very happy moving backwards from the Toyo 245s to the Falken AT3 235s.
Any chance you can check the date code on your Falken tires? (each tire's 'birth date' stamped on its outer sidewall … Tire Identification Number (TIN) - The first two numbers identify the week, and the last two numbers identify the year of manufacture)

I ran Toyo OC AT3 in 245 for 50k miles. My wife’s BS has the Falken 235s and every time I rode in it or drove it I could feel how much quieter and faster it was. That combined with the fact everyone here has been very happy with the Falkens performance off-road I went with them a couple weeks ago before they aren’t around anymore. I’m very happy moving backwards from the Toyo 245s to the Falken AT3 235s.
Interesting. Thats a couple of you wanting the AT3…wonder if Falken will regret their decision to phase it out as this opinion expands ?

I did just speak with my local Ford and theyre showing it’s the AT4 235 option replacement other than a trail tire which I dont want.

If you wanted the OE 235 65R17 tires (OE part# 59000690) you could ask your dealership to order that part # and check the date code before shipping.

My dealership has a buy 3 get 1 free, $1,102 plus tax (price includes: 3 year Ford Road Hazard protection, 4 wheel alignment, and the $100 for mount and balance)

Thanks not bad and very good to know. I was quoted $1200 for the AT4 235 with mount/balance/alignment/road hazard.

I'd say the key question here is are you buying for looks or do you legitimately need those vastly overpriced tires? Because if you are buying for looks, there are cheaper options giving you similar tread wear. Actually, there are better options even if you are off-roading where price and performance are concerned. What the vast majority of people seem to overlook is the marketing hype associated with tires just like running shoes and TVs and anything else we "have" to buy to function in today's world. The idea that 1/8 inch more knob on the outer edge of a tire is going to provide every random person driving through the infinitesimal variances of dirt and rock out there an advantage is a bit ludicrous. 90% of offroad performance is the driver.

I’m buying a tire that historically has high ratings for performance in an all-terrain setting - for me that’s 90% on road and 10% off but a tire that also performs extremely well in all weather environments. The tire must also have a high reliability rating, and yes… have a moderately aggressive profile to match the off-road capability of the BS. I don’t just want an average tire - I want the top two for the above - be it 235 or 245.

Please share your “cheaper, better” options provided they hit the buckets above and I will add them to my research list.

I did a lot of research before I bought them. Minimal humming on the road. Not a pain for the dealership to balance. 20K miles on them and hardly any tread wear. Gas mileage took maybe 1 mpg hit over stock. Good luck with your search.
