So my dealership installed my seat incorrectly, identified by another dealership. OG dealer finally figured out how to put the cushion on "correctly"? It feels 80% better. I am basically back to where I started, with the door side feeling lower and the console side feeling higher. I'm guessing this is no longer a cushion issue.

I saw that the 2020 Escapes had some issue with how the heating system was fitting under the driver seats and had to have them replaced. So now I'm wondering if the problem isn't that one side is lower, but really one side is higher due to pieces not fitting right. Again my passenger side feels great, so it isn't me.

Anyone have anymore experience with this?

I'm having the exact same issue. I'm practically leaning on the door somewhat often. My pelvis tilts towards the door and my torso has to lean right. The inboard side of the bolstering on the backrest makes the problem worse as it is larger than the bolstering on the outboard side. I can't use the lumbar feature much or I'll definitely end up leaning against the door every 2 minutes.
To make matters even more worse, I can tell the steering wheel shaft does not come straight at me. In other words, the 3 O'clock position of the steering wheel is further from my torso and the 9 O'clock position is closer to my torso. I'm certain that if I place a T-square on the steering wheel it will not point to the center of the seat. Has anyone else noticed the steering wheel is crooked?

I have 11,000 miles on my Badlands and I love it, but sometimes my face is pressed against the window as I'm going down the road.

If I can find a T-square that will fit between the steering wheel and the seat I will take a picture.

Let me know if you end up getting any good evidence to bring to the dealership and if they have any suggestions of a design flaw. I was given a third cushion and for some reason they’re all different firmness quality. No idea why it isn’t consistent. Passenger seat as I mentioned before feels great. How’s yours?

Anyone experience any updates? I’m surprised by the varying quality of the cushions that were sent for installation

Not sure if this is the right area for this. I have had my FE for about 2000 miles now and I feel that I'm beginning to lean toward my door, as if either the outer side of the seat has sunk, or the side closer to the center console is hard. I don't have this same experience on the front passenger side, and I'm only about 6' 200 lbs.
Does anyone have this sort of sensation or experience?
Hello there! Are your seat cushions still an issue for you? If so, could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to see what I can do to assist.

Did it recently get serviced and somehow mechanics pulled out stuff? It's one thing when things get put together wrong (as the case with one of you) but to have evidence of support hardware that were once there but obviously were pulled out at some point and never put back.

Well, Orin, I’ve read that the people who steal parts from victims cars actually troll the victim online, in forums like this.
big security bulletin for Ford, thieves use mobile device management on victims phones to access the Ford app, unlock Ford vehicles without the owner knowing, then the thieves enter the vehicle and steal parts, then post on forums like this to troll victims and devalue Ford vehicles.
what are your thoughts about this, Orin? How’s the drivers seat in your bronco Sport?
I have a warranty appointment scheduled. Ford is going to really look at this seat with the missing parts, and also the suddenly crooked steering wheel on my 22 OBX with less than 2000 miles.
after those items are fixed and replaced, I’ll take pictures of everything so I know Ford replaced those missing parts.
interesting that similar parts are missing on our 2018 escape drivers seat, yes Orin?
Thank you for your informative comment, Orin. You have helped shed light on how drivers seat parts go missing.
Don't know what crawled up your butt. To summarize all I asked was did it recently get serviced because you said there are marks on the foam and stuff that indicate parts were there and got taken out from the looks of it. I was just curious maybe it was in for service at the dealership and maybe mechanics working on it forgot to put the brackets back in. Sorry for bringing out your psychotic side you take care of yourself. Good day.

Our 2022 OBX also has the seat issue. The drivers seat appears to be missing parts, almost like they were pulled out judging by the indents in the foam padding underside. Comparing the passenger seat underside, which looks complete and feels 100% supportive, It looked like the drivers side parts were there at one time, a flat white support piece, a round thing with a clear tube, and another bracket.
OBX has less than 2000 miles, when new the drivers seat was exactly like the passenger seat, 100% full support. Now it sags deep on the left side.
there also appear to be deep cuts in the underside of the seat cushion.
the steering wheel has also moved from dead center to left of center, where the 3 o clock position sticks out further toward the driver by inches than the 9 o’clock position does.

All of the stuff you are pointing out is related to the passenger occupancy sensor and is nothing supportive. The main seat frame is the same on both sides so the mount points for the not required sensor will still be on the driver side.

Here’s a better picture of the window side of the drivers seat cushion underside. There’s a round indent formed into the foam, like there should be a piece of some type that supports that side of the seat?
It can be seen that the cushion doesn’t have full support underneath it like the passenger seat, with the large flat opaque piece not there. I hope this helps solve what’s missing on everyone’s seats.

Thank you for identifying those parts. I didn’t know what they were. There’s a flat opaque piece on the passenger seat, between the cushion and the support springs. That piece looks like it fits under the edges of the metal frame of the seat.
on the drivers seat, that piece is missing. Without that piece, it looks like the cushion wouldn’t have any support when a person sits, except for when the cushion sinks so low that it meets the support springs even then, the cushion will expand past those springs. Maybe that flat opaque piece (and whatever is associated with it) is pretty important to solving everyone’s drivers seat problem that makes everyone lean to the left, due to the west cushion sinking. Thank you for identifying those passenger seat sensor parts.
That big flat whit piece is the air cushion for the sensor and when someone sits in the seat it pushes the air into the sensor through the tube

That looks similar to the support my f150 has. Also makes me think that the stuff for vented seats can be added at some point.

I put down my back seats to try and get a view from the back. The chair leans to the left for sure. Also wtf is up with my back zipper pocket? It doesn’t look like how it’s supposed to be positioned in other broncos? Checked out an OB yesterday and that tipped me off that the seat should be much more comfortable still and that my zipper pocket looks like it was yanked out of its holding space.

Bringing it into the dealership with the above photos and using the levels. Hopefully something comes out of it.

Has anyone discovered the issue and a solution to the left leaning seat cushion issue?

My OB has about 20k miles now, and I feel like I'm now leaning towards the door. It is especially bad when taking a right hand turn compared to a left. Right hand and I feel like I'm forced into the door. Left hand is nowhere near as harsh, not forced into console.
