No More Two-Tone?

I've noticed on the online configurator, new physical listings online and in person that the '23 Bronco Sport Outer Banks and Badlands no longer come with a two-tone roof. The Outer Banks came standard with the Shadow Black roof whereas the Badlands could be optioned either with the same Shadow Black roof or Carbonized Grey roof. Now they're all body colored as you would find on the Base and Big Bend. I have a reason as to why they did this.... cost-cutting. It's probably cheaper and more efficient to paint the cars one color instead of having to worry about slowing the production line to apply the two-tone. I'm curious as to how other's feel about it? Do you prefer the two-tone or body color? Let me know in the comments below.

My 2023 has the Area 51 body color, and the Shadow black roof. I like it, but if it was all Area 51, I would not have issues with that either; it would not have been a show stopper for purchasing.

It is always nice to have options, the more they take away in the options department, the more "your" vehicle becomes a cookie cutter model. "We are all clones."

I like the two-tone. Have a 21 BL Area 51/Carbonized gray and have a 23 on order Eruption green/carbonized gray. One of the reasons I pick the gray over black is summer heat. I've owned a number of black trucks and they do get hot. I think the gray goes well with Carbonized gray wheels and trim as well.

Marketing 101 teaches you to sell to a customer's wants and needs. Building what you think customers need has gotten the auto manufacturers in trouble more than once and will again. Winess the push for electrics by Ford which will cost them $3bil this year. Maybe more.

I love the black roof and would pass without one. The BS looks too plain without it.

Unless I'm missing something, for 2024 looks like ONLY roof color allowed is black. Just for fun I set up a blue body and tried to check box for 'roof matching body' and configurator told me I'd have to choose shadow black body.

It looks like the BB is the only version that has a body colored roof as an option.

I believe it was changed to an "option" on those trim levels as opposed to standard. I agree with everyone on here, the two-tone was the reason I selected my Outer Banks trim level (however it was standard when I ordered) and it does look like a supply chain issue and/or cost-cutting move. I looked at the 24 model builds and the two-tone is standard on the Outer Banks from what I can tell. I do like the new "Free-Wheeling" trim level that is offered!

I like the all one color, our 21 BB is rapid red & I think it looks nice all the same color. IMHO the black roof looks like it has a vinyl top like on cars from the 60's & 70's.

A $500 option on my '23 Outer Banks and well worth it to me.

When I ordered my MY23 Badlands, body color roof was standard. I could change it to Carbonized Grey at no charge or to Shadow Black for $500.00. I wanted the Carbonized Grey, so no problem. Looks like the Carbonized Grey roof option is gone on MY24. Also gone is Area 51 and Cyber Orange colors. New colors are Azure Grey and Desert Sand. The only bright/bold colors left are Atlas Blue, Eruption Green and Hot Pepper Red. Glad mine is built and in shipping.

On the 2024, the black roof is back as standard on BL and OB. I don't see that there is a CG roof option anymore, but body color appears to be an option. What is a real game changer is the BB can get a BAP which has a black roof, so you can option a black roof on a BB now.

I wish I could have gotten body color on mine. A black roof in the desert is just dumb.

As Henry Ford said when the model T came out, "You can have any color you want as long as it is black."
