Well, it's been about 7 or 8 years since I last tinkered with forscan, did a few mods on my old 2011 f150. And then I left the Ford world and dipped my toes in the FCA world with a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and a 1500 Ram. Well roughly 2 weeks ago I bought my first brand new Ford, a big Bend with the black diamond off-road package. Today I dabbled with the new and improved forscan.
I was successful on my first try. Oh my it's so much easier now with the drop-down menus. So my list of mods that I did today consist of:
Bambi mode
TPMS turned off
Seat belt chimes turned off
Auto stop start turned off
Several rear lights set to LED

Trying to think if that's everything I did or am I missing something. Lol

Your user name is killing me. 🤣

Also, it’s been eight years for me since I’ve messed with it, I’ve got the stuff in my cart to buy, just… hesitating.

why would you turn your tpms off? the only reason I can see is if you don't want to spend the extra 4 bucks to get TPMS sensors for your winter rims. seat belt chimes also, that goes off when you put your seatbelt on. and the rear lishgt, did you actualy put led bulbs in them?

What happens when you take the vehicle in for service? Would the dealer be able to identify are reverse the changes you made?

I’m guessing you don’t have places where you drive <5mph on a regular basis… I wear my seatbelt everywhere, but when I get to our property, I take it off and listening to the damn chime is annoying as shit… and the “process” that is displayed for turning it off doesn’t actually work on the ‘25s.

Oh yes, they can easily see it and revert it if they want to. But most won't bother unless there is something you did that they can prove that caused an issue that you attempting to claim under warranty.

"Several rear lights set to LED." This prevents the system from initiating a fast flash (or Bulb Burned Out) in the turn signal indicators within the cluster when LED units are installed in incandescent bulb locations in the tail lights.

Bambi mode is just allowing my fog lights to be on with my high beams instead of turning off automatically. Just provides a lot more light on the road which is really nice when you drive on extremely dark Northern Ontario highways like I do. We have tons of moose and you need as much light as possible because I don't know what it is with their fur but it basically doesn't reflect light LOL most Spurs like a black hole in space any light that hits it it's just absorbed and disappears LOL but then again if you hit the moose with your vehicle there's a good chance that you're disappearing off this planet too LOL I've had some close calls.

FYI, I wanted my TPMS turned off because no my winter tires don't have sensors in them, actually they do have sensors just not the right ones. They're a set of used tires that I picked up off of marketplace the originally came off of a 2013 Ford escape which has a different frequency sensor. The tires we're only used for under 4 months so they are literally like brand new, not to mention they were over $400 less than buying them brand new plus they're already on rims. Kind of stupid to not pick them up and use them. As for paying $4 extra for a sensor, I've never seen anywhere in my life that I could grab sensors added to my tire purchase for four bucks a tire extra. And I previously owned a tire shop for 27 years, so I feel I'm well versed on getting deals on tires entire accessories. As for the seat belt minder, I work around in my backyard between my storage units and moving trailers around, a seatbelt gets annoying hearing the chime going off when you're moving the vehicle a couple hundred feet multiple times. Easier just to turn off the chime and the procedure in the user manual doesn't work on the new vehicles. As for the LEDs no I haven't installed them yet because they haven't arrived yet, and on top of that it's -30c outside right now plus heavy winds this week making it feel like -45c, which is not ideal temperature to be sitting in trying to install bulbs on the other side of your vehicle. But instead of setting up forscan twice, I just did it proactively so I'm ready to go when the bulbs arrive and the temperature is cooperating.

I just picked up all the gear to do this also. Have a business trip coming and plan to do this after I get back in a week. Excited that it sounds like easy.
Yep was very easy to do, and everything worked flawlessly. Plus I did a few things to prep myself for win some future packages arrive in the mail.

Nothing really. In your case being on Sync 3, they can reconfigure the module to write the original data back on it if they wanted to, but even if they notice whatever you enabled or disabled, they won't care.

Sync 4 vehicles are different. They will eventually sync up with the server and whatever changes you make become your new permanent as-built data. So the dealer will not be able to revert the changes you made and neither will an OTA update. However, let's say you make a change to the APIM today and get an APIM OTA tomorrow, chances are, whatever change you made would get reverted. But, if you make a change in the APIM and you get an APIM OTA in 4 months or after the vehicles synced up with the mothership, the changes you made will remain.
