After hours researching dashcams and ready posts here, I've narrowed it down to 2.

John recommended the Vantrue E1 Pro 4K. It's at the top of my list. I also added the Rove R2 4K dual dashcam as a consideration.

The Vantrue was listed on Amazon for $130 the last week or so. Today it's back to the regular price of $150.

The Rove is still at $130 today on Amazon.

I decided to order both and eyeball each and get a hands on feel for both. I'll return one of them.

I put both in the cart and luckily the Vantrue had a $30 discount applied so the price was $120. It's still cheaper on Newegg, $110, but I decided the Amazon route is best for me, (free easy returns).

Both have pretty much the same specs & features. The Vantrue is smaller which I like. It doesn't come with a Micro SD card but comes with a CPL filter.

The Rove comes with a Micro SD card, 128 GB, and a rear camera, 1080P, which I probably wouldn't use, but doesn't come with a CPL filter. Filter is $20 on Amazon.

We'll see. Probably will be the Vantrue

So, if you are considering the Vantrue, you can get a good deal today. Make sure the discount is applied before you order. Look for the save 20% at check out in green in the ad.

As a sidenote I installed the Rubigrid on my dash. The lower section is magnetic but not the top section, must be aluminum. I was hoping to mount the dashcam with a magnet on the base for easy removal. But I will have to figure out some other option.

FYI, I removed the CPL filter on mine. It was distorting the image a lot regardless of how I positioned it. Image is perfectly fine now. If I were to put another filter on it, I’d go with an ND filter.

As always, YMMV.

You might be within the 30 day return window depending on when Amazon announces Prime Days (just saw will be sometime in June)

Maybe the price will drop for Prime Days but Amazon has a habit of raising prices in the month or so before Prime Days to be able to show ā€œlarge price drop percentagesā€ during Prime Days but camelcamelcamel’s price history is pretty reliable

I'll watch the website just out of curiosity. Thanks for heads up on Prime Days.

I'm not going to go thru the hassle of returns & reorder for $10-$15 though.

A big price drop, maybe.

Hell, I was going to bite the bullet and buy it for the $150 price today and felt like I won the lotto when the $30 discount appeared. 😁

Check the history on this site especially the last prime day’s sale Oct 2025, will give you a pretty good clue of any recent lower prices say over past year

Pretty easy to use just paste the Amazon product link in and if you create a camel account you can add price watches

I had a Vantrue N4 Pro on my Mustang that worked well. The S1 Pro Max and the E1 Pro are ones I tried to use on the BS, but the FL heat/sun is so brutal that they would overheat easily so I had to return them. The picture on both in my opinion are excellent. The S1 Pro Max was better vs the E1. I used the OBD adapter for power which worked great. Can't say anything on the Rove.

I, too, have been thinking about this.

Main reason is with my bike rack and long trip loading, I can rarely see out the back. I need a camera rearview mirror just to see.

I have a low end GT802 from Amazon. So I set it up. I plan to get an analog cell phone amplifier to make it useful. It has about 2.5 screen. So, not great.

I looked at Wolfbox. $350 is alot. Ebay has them about $200 and change. I spent $70 plus $10 more for the screen.

The Bronco Sport really does have reduced visibility when you load it up. Then my bikes mess up visibility even more.

Anyway, I don't mind taking plenty of time to follow this and land on the best solution. I'll look at those other two.
