There're a few of inconsistencies in the video. For example, is it that people are broke, or that manufacturers' MSRPs are too high? Personally, I think it's the latter. The sales manager at my local dealer kept sending me notifications about the two Bronco Raptors on the lot. I finally replied that absent winning the lottery (and maybe not even then), there is no way on God's green earth I will spend over $90k for a vehicle.

Only 90K for the Bronco Raptor at your dealership?

At mine, they added the pop up camper tent, some foofoo grills and fender skirts, and some other dealer add ons...the final sticker was 110K

Like yourself, I would in no way buy one, even with money being no object.

I'd hire 5 or 6 strong men and have them hoist me around like the Egyptian faros.

I agree that people aren't broke. They have priorities and their families are it.

It's hard to purchase a vehicle now with interest rates high and on a commodity that's going to depreciate and be worth close to 50% of its cost when the loan is paid off.

Right now, not a lot of disposable income in this economy. I think Stellantis is in trouble.

He has some version of a click bait title every week. Some people are definitely hurting no doubt. Raptors and loaded F-350 diesels are 120k here in Canada. (150,000.00 with tax. Only a select few can afford that. Imagine paying 2300.00 a month for 72 months for a vehicle. 31,000.00 in interest costs alone!

The only real purpose for a vehicle is to get you and your stuff from point A to point B safely and efficiently. When a vehicles large size, and many of its features, and thus cost, have nothing to do with those purposes it is easy for consumers to decide that buying food and fixing their roof is more important than impressing their neighbors.

As long as there are people buying these vehicles the manufacturers will keep building them,. As much as there are people who can't or won't afford a vehicle that expensive there is always someone who can afford these vehicles either by buying them or leasing them for a smaller monthly fee.

Here is June sales for Ford Motor Company: ford-motor-company-sales-numbers-figures-results-june-2024-usa. There were some increases and some decreases for an over all decrease of 6% compared to last year.

As Dantanman said "He has some version of a click bait title every week". Not sure what his motive is but I felt the video was a lot of over the top sensationalism to complain how expensive cars have gotten. I guess the more clicks he gets the more money he makes.

Understand that. Just another opinion on you tube. You know what opinions are like. This was sent to me so I thought it might be worth a look.

Also just thinking about this further. Probably the trucks more so but those who are buying vehicles for their business will be able to depreciate them or deduct the lease payments. That would help them with the cost of the truck. Disclaimer: In a prior life before retirement I was an accountant. Do not know current tax laws.

I for one am surprised he's still in charge.

In the case of Ford's all electric F150, they are not selling. Ford stopped production from what I read.

Maybe the mucky mucks are finally paying attention.

I am not a fan of electric vehicles. I just can't get past having to wait around to charge them.
