Hello and thank you for taking a look at my first thread created on this forum!!

On this thread i will explain how i installed the mount and give you my honest opinion.

check it out here

I needed a way to mount my phone, that is easily accessible and in view. I searched online and came across bulletpoint mounting solutions and thought that would be great for my phone and to later on mount a camera as well. So i bit the bullet and purchased. haha.

i purchased with standard shipping and it got delivered in 4 days. was supper happy getting home from work friday to see it sitting in front my door.

the kit came with pretty much everything you need to install and some.

well now time for the install which took me about 15 minutes.

first had to remove the panel behind the screen. the trim removal tool the kit came with made it super easy.
the trick was to start at the top and make your way around. popped right off

once removed, place the whole mount on top the panel to center. i unscrewed all the screws, made sure it was still centered then made my marks with a metallic sharpie.

then i used the drill bit provided to make the holes.
placed the bottom part of the mount back on with the screws, washers and bolts.

screwed the ball mount onto the top plate but before fully tightening it and screwing the top plate back onto the bottom plate, i went back to my BS and pushed the panel back into place. attached to arm to the ball mount to make sure i liked its location, thankfully i did. then tightened the ball mount and top plate back to bottom plate.

and that's it. super easy install. and i love how it looks.

so if i had to give it a rating id say id give it a 4.5 out of 5.

phones in my face and does not interfere with the view of the road. which is exactly what i needed. the mount is super sturdy. my phone is not going anywhere.
i just wish the arm was about 1/2" longer so it would not touch the screen. it doesnt block the screen or anything, just being a little picky lol. but i will be buying a longer arm in the future just to make myself happy lol.

Touching on the screen might be adding a bit of stability. Maybe just throw a bit of the fuzzy side of Velcro on there to protect against scratching.

Nah. It doesn’t do anything stability wise. I can move the arm and have the phone in another position that it’s not touching the screen. But then it covers the screen and I can’t see it. The position I have it in, is the only one that doesn’t cover the screen. Sometimes at work I eat lunch in my car, I can move the arm straight out and hold my phone horizontally to watch movies.

but like I said, it’s really not a big deal. I love the mount. Would definitely buy again. Once I get another ball mount, I’ll also buy another arm. The second mount will be used for either my GoPro, work tablet or wife’s phone.

Thanks for posting this. That looks like just what I need. You should ask Bullet Point for a commission on sales from this forum.
Glad i can help at least one person :D

how would i go about asking them for commission?

I used the Bulletpoint mounting system in my F-150. I really like it. Excellent quality and sturdy. Wasn't aware they had it for the BS. The short arm does bother me though. Need to see what the length of the next longest arm is. How did you run the cable for CarPlay integration?

Make that two! I'm off to that site to see if they have one for a 2007 Ford F150.

UPDATE:

Missed the reply from Colonel Angus

I think I will order the kit and add the 7cm arm. Seems the 4cm it comes with is a bit short. 7cm gives me room to play with where I mount it on the plate to get it in the perfect position. I'll worry about running the phone cable later. I hate wires hanging all over the place. There may be an opening to the lower dash under that screen cover when it's removed.

One thing I like about this set up is that it seems a better use of space behind the sync screen than say, an organizer.

Not to mention they include ALL the tools-- that's very cool. My level of expectation is a hex key; here, if the photos are to be believed, you get a trim tool, screwdriver, wrench, AND a drill bit?!

I went to the Bulletpoint site and they have half a dozen options in addition to phone mounts-- radio mount, hand set mount, charger, etc. Whole system looks very modular and extremely customable.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but it looks super tempting.

I ajuste have it hanging at the moment cause it’s a short cable. Thinking bout getting a longer one and trying to hide it behind the trim somehow

Yeah I’ll be getting the 7cm one in the next week or so.. I was thinking the same with the cable. I just need a longer one first then figure out how to hide it
