And here is a photo of the “secure to frame” all thread and , forgive Bad angle. It’s cold out.
Also I can use front crawl camera with no issues

Thank you for the pictures! Curious though how is it secured to the frame? Does that threading go into the original tow hook support way in the back or does it come with brackets to be able to secure it to the frame? **My apologies if that question makes no sense I’m not really sure how to even word what I’m asking…**

Corrected: I just saw your post above no need to respond to this!

So I had local metal shop bore out the center of the ford ranger lift bracket in line with the factory shaft on the factoey Hole. I then put grade 8 all thread and welded the matching Bolt on front.
This answers the question I've publicly asked of Ford Ranger Lifts: Can this nudge bar on a Badlands be used for recovery? Apparently not.

This looks to be an interesting modification to allow use of the nudge bar for recovery, but I'm having extreme difficulty following the narrative in your post. Are you saying you modified the nudge bar to attach to the same points the tow hooks attach to?

I reached out to FordRangerLifts yesterday to try and see what they mean by “Also options for recovery points and extra bracket bracing Available upon request.” That they have posted underneath this product. They didn’t seem like they were able to answer my question… In the email they were trying to convince me that the nudge bar alone would be able to be used for recovery due to its construction but I was trying to explain that those front tow hooks mounts would not be near strong enough to do that and obviously Ford knows that due to the extra bracket the tow hooks attach to in the rear. Haven’t heard back after that last email.

Yup, I had the same experience. They don't seem willing to answer any questions about this topic. I really like the looks to this nudge bar, but this is the main reason I haven't purchased one.

I saw a video of Rough Country’s Nudge Bar and it looks like theirs actually gets bolted on to a lower portion of the frame under the bumper which is nice. They just don’t have the D-Ring mount attachments like I want…

Yes, I modified the Ford RAnger Lift bar to attach to the same subframe points that the factory badlands recovery hooks use; this was accomplished by boring a hole through the FRL in the intersection of the 3 x 3/8th inch bolt holes that the original design FRL mounted with.
The original design FRL bar ONLY mounts to the front of the small thinner sheet metal brackets and (in my opinion) is not sufficient to recover the vehicle with. I honesty couldn’t belive the FRL bar didn’t come stock this way, 2 holes drilled, 2 welded nuts, 2 modified washers, 2 nuts, and 2 pieces of all thread and the design becomes FAR more effective. And total cost would be under 50 bucks.

the rough country nudge bar appears to attach in a similar fashion, so would also be inadequate for recovery strength. Also I had a rough country on my Subaru forester (before the BS), I was very unhappy with how much it vibrated due to the mounting method and I have avoided them as a Company since.

That’s awesome man. Makes it a very effective addition to the vehicle. I think the entire secondary market is missing a huge opportunity with useable frame-mounted front recovery hooks…

I enjoy making stuff. I just can’t make money on them. lol.
I also made a sweet fire extinguisher mount, quick release easy access.

When my wife & I installed the Rough Country nudge bar to her BS/BB we had to remove the front bumper & grille assembly to attach thew mounting brackets to the frame.

the badlands (and first editions ) have an extra piece in the subframe about 12 inches deeper than those mounts you have there, it is an additional mounting support that hat is clearly designed for pulling forces.
The 2.0 engines have an additional structure right behind the hook about 18 inches back. Made of a reinforced loop of roughly 1/4 inch
Thick by 2 inches wide , that is designed
To take a flange nut and transfer load feom
The hook to the frame. The lower trims don’t have this and pulling might go VERY badly.
Here is a diagram of the lower trims and the hook that Both use.

If there wasn’t a reason to have the giant pole on baxk what have it? Except it is cheaper to have the lower trims and upper trims share a pet, but adding the lower xtra grams struxture
Would be a significant expense so they don’t do
That.

The back of the tow hook is threaded. It goes though a mounting bracket and is secured with a nut. The bracket is welded to the subframe. You can view a photo of the assembly here.

Has anyone with Adpative Cruise control on their BS tried the Rally Innovations bar and not have it block the sensors? I've emailed them and they say it does not but it seems to come a bit over the lip to where the sensor is located. Really like the looks and functionality of it. Plus the tow hooks remain in place.
