Brakes on new 22 Badlands

I traded in my 2021 OB for my 22 Badlands earlier this week. The OB had the squealing brakes in reverse issue, new BL does not. So perhaps that’s solved in the current builds.

’21 BL and no squealing brakes. Did you have it checked out? You could have had one of the Sports delivered with the problematic brakes that are being recalled.

My 2021 BL did not have squeaking until about 12000 miles. Only in reverse and only in the morning.

I think the first startup after it's been sitting awhile going in reverse you get a loud squeal. Then it's normal after that. I witnessed a Ford Escape exact same sound when they were backing out a parking space. Unfortunately, mine started doing it at 1,300 miles (2 weeks ago) but I just assume it's from the rear brakes sticking because of the electric parking brake constant pressure on it when parked. I have a '21 Badlands purchased 3 months ago.

Same. I think it started around 10k. Had the pads and rotors replaced by Ford. It fixed it, sort of. I have recently heard the noise again but not as bad. Does Ford just use some crappy ass brake parts or what?

I had that issue on my 2013 Shelby 2016 F150 and well just about everything else in the last 15 or so years. I figure it is caused by the moisture that forms after you stop, then causes a slight bit of corrosion on the rotors. The first stop or touching of the brakes after that causes it to catch or squeal when first applied. My Shelby was bad enough after sitting overnight outside that I would left foot brake it for the first half mile to warm up the brakes and get them cleaned off. When I parked in my garage I didn’t have any squeaking or grabbing.

2021 BB, squeals in reverse, not always. Mine is on the brake recall list.

My 2021 Badlands squeaks when I back it out of the garage for the first time almost every day. Not that annoying. I just turned over 3800 miles.

My 2021 BL has been doing the loud squeal in reverse since Fall of 2021. It doesn't seem to matter if I have my foot on the brake or not. It's typically first thing in the morning and when I'm leaving work at the end of the day. I'm taking it in for an oil change and to see if they can replicate the squeal this Friday. Hopefully they can figure it out, as I"m sure I'm waking up some of my neighbors every morning.
