Wait...so these accessories literally just stick on, and the dealer was trying to charge ~3.5 hours labor for this? Either they were taking advantage of the situation and trying to make up for labor they short-charged on other jobs, or they flat-out hate this type of work and over charge hoping customers will not have them do the installs. There are shops that freely admit to way over-pricing work in the hope the customer will go elsewhere [instead of simply telling a customer they do not want to do the job...which would be preferable.]
Honestly, these types of accessories could probably be installed by the employees working in the detail bay as opposed to using a service tech. Then the labor charges quoted by Ford would make more sense.
