For what it's worth, Ford says my 2023 OBX "has shipped and is on its way!"

Should be at the dealer between 12/25 and 12/31. Fingers crossed.
My OBX is shipped and should be at dealer between January 5th thru January 11th We will see.

I’ve seen the article and it says “select” 2023… The Escapes started production before the Bronco Sports. That article was written before production even started on the ‘23 Bronco Sports. Follow the other topics in this forum and you will see that indeed there have been the new ‘23 model year 1.5L built, mine included.
I searched 2023 before posting this topic and no related topic came up. Anyways thanks for verifying you got a 2023 built. However was it delivered yet?

2023 Badlands ordered 8/4, built on 12/10, currently en route to the dealership with an expected delivery date of between 1/5—1/11. Considering all the delays I've been reading about over the past year that seems kind of optimistic to me, but we'll see. I ordered it pretty well loaded up: premium package, sunroof, 360+, optional wheels.
Nice! Ours was ordered with the premium package too. We skipped the sunroof since worroed about leaks years down the road. We skipped the pilot 360 since its already got blind spot monitoring, front and rear sensor warnings. The adaptive cruise would have been nice, but its mainly my GF car and she never uses cruise. Even though i will be the 1 driving it half the time she is the decider on the options since its

The better all terrain tires would have been nice, but its gonna be on road 99% of miles driven. So decided its better to save 1 mpg than have better tire for our offroading 1 weelend a month. If needed we will buy a 2nd set of better all terrain tires later on.

Got all the mats though! Passenger and cargo mats! Seems like no a brainer for those.

I am super stoked to have a green one with brown leather and grey roof that matches the rims. Its going to be super rare spec since this was the first year for green.

Congrats! Please let us know when it has arrived. I have not seen anyone with 2023 1.5L take actual delivery yet.
This was posted today over at the Maverick forum. It appears Ford is allowing those with an order for a hybrid to change to the 2.0L EcoBoost without losing their production slot.
Thanks for the info! Very interesting! I wonder if they will do that for people with the 1.5L Bronco Sport that are delayed by the recall? I guess they likely would if they do it for the Maverick.

They are allowing current hybrid Maverick order holders to switch to an Ecoboost engine because they do not have the capacity to produce all of the hybrid orders they received. I think the capacity is 35% and they received 70% or something like that. So they are giving the people who ordered a hybrid Maverick the opportunity to switch to the Ecoboost engine. It has nothing to do with the 1.5L recall announced earlier. You are taking apples to oranges. (I’m a ‘23 Maverick order holder too.)

We ordered a 2023 Badlands on 12/3.

I was thinking now that Ford has paused all deliveries of Bronco Sports with 1.5L, due to fuel injector recall, then it makes sense to me that Badlands with the 2.0L should deliver faster.

Since majority of orders are 1.5L then that is going to free up a TON of production capacity for the Badlands with the 2.0L.

What is everyone else's thoughts on this?

If anyone with a 2023 Badlands order has a build date, then please post your order date, build date, & date you received the email for the build date. That might give indications if that is starting to happen.
Hello,
I finally pulled the trigger and order a BS Badlands on 9/20/22. I received my email from Ford on
11-17-22 and they gave me a build date of 1/9/23.
Thanks C

My local dealer has a '22 that is part of the recall. Been sitting for 2 weeks with a sold sign in it. I asked about it and was told they can not legally sell a vehical with a open recall, so it must sit till it has the fix.
Hello DemonGT,
That is true when we sell a vehicle the vin number is put into Ford system to check for any recalls. If there is a recall one and it's a safety issue one we can not sell the Vehicle. Until it's Fixed. :)

I received an email today that my badlands has been built and I have an expected delivery of 12/28 through 1/3. I think your theory is correct.

Been reviewing the info on the 1.5 recall for the fuel injector issue, the hype of all the 1.5 under recall isn't true.

Only a small fraction of BS 1.5 are under recall, and the fix of the specific design injectors under recall for 1.5 motors after Oct 17, 2022 is done. The 2023 MY 1.5 have injectors that meet spec.

So ALL the 2023 BS with 1.5 are good to go, awaiting my build date too, but not worried about production holds for the engine!

Great news thanks! We also ordered a Eruption Green Badlands. We ordered on 12/3 and just couple days ago got a email for 2/20 build date. So we will likely have it less than 3 months after ordering!

So yeah it does seem to be the Badlands is delivering in half the time than the 6+ months they were just recently.

I hate to inform you, but I am pretty confident that 1% does not mean 1% of Bronco Sport 1.5L Owners. Because the math does not make sense.

If that is what that number means, then multiple numbers effected (521,778) by 100. That would mean Ford has sold over 52 MILLION Bronco Sports. Clearly that is not true.

Ford has sold less than 250k Bronco Sports. That is counting Badlands with 2.0L. When you also count for the Ford Escape with the 1.5L that is how they got to 521,778.

So that 1% likely means about 1% of the entire population. However that does not make sense either when doing the Math. So they likely just round to the nearest whole percent of the US population.

Looks like I'll be checking the tracker all day. I have a supposed production day of 1/5 as well but no sticker yet. No bump email so I called Ford yesterday and confirmed that so far I'm still set for 1/5. Fingers crossed for both of us.
