Bad Dash Rattle on rough roads and expansion joints in the road anyone else?

Twice I had the same dash rattles as you reported and both times was due to the sunglasses in the sunglasses holder (‘21-‘24)

Check for sunglasses in your sunglasses holder… maybe is that simple as it was for me

I'll check but i don't think that's the problem would be nice if it is though.

That wasn't the problem i didn't have any sunglasses in the sunglass holder.

We have not done anything about the rattle and at 15k miles it is getting worse. If it ever warms up I will try the black foam weatherstrip and push into the gaps. I will post when I accomplish that task.

If you get your rattles to quit let me know unless i get rid of mine before then.

So, this is what I purchased today at Lowe’s. I intend to cut small 1/2” strips and cut off the tape and squeeze it in horizontally at the bottom of the screen. It did not get out of the 30’s today so I am waiting until Saturday when it will be in the 50’s. Gotta love Michigan weather.

I Live in Ohio so i know how your Weather Is.Sunday Night until early Monday morning we had a ground covering of Snow,Later that Day i cut the grass . I talked to a Guy Leaving the Bank when i did on Monday and told Him about the Snow and cutting the Grass He said only in Ohio. Let me know if that works for you but i think my rattle is also coming from the plastic vents on the dash by the windshield.

I used the razor blade to remove the tape, then cut in half again from 1/2”width. I used a plastic knife and a screen bead roller to stuff next to the screen. Tomorrow will be the road test. The foam is a little long, should be about 3/4 of the razor blade, I cut full length of blade.

I had a really bad rattle in the rear of the vehicle that was driving me insane. I hope you at least are able to fix yours because I was seriously considering taking the car back it was so bad. Took me a few sessions of looking to fix. Ended up being a few places in the rear hatch, but the hardest to locate was the black plastic cover of the latching mechanism for the rear hatch door.

At least the color is spot on. The flash makes it stand out more than the eye sees. I also have a rattle, that I think is the rubber mat on the back seat. One of the snaps has never held and I think there is a harmonic vibration that makes it flutter.

Sunday it was rattling pushed down on dash between Radio Screen and Windshield went away. Then it was rattling again pushed down on dash again in same spot didn't make a difference.
