I've been looking at The Grand Ascape ST by Aliner ... anyone else? If not ... what other ultra lightweight campers (preferably with bath) are you pulling? I've looked at a few teardrops that have potential and see benefits of that design but not a have to. I need to keep the total gross weight around 2000 lbs since I have the smaller engine. Ok ... give it your best shot. Thanks in advance!

It's still way too heavy for a BS. If you can find others towing this trailer with a BS, that won't make it suddenly lighter or safe to tow ... it would just mean that you would have found a group of people who are making poor, unsafe decisions.

Weight is too much at 1700 poinds, and that is unloaded (no passenger weight, no clothing, toys, etc).

Agreed. Weight of 1700 is before propane, spare tire/wheel for trailer, water, food, bedding, ect, you are easily looking at 2500 lbs.

1700 is actually pretty darn nice for something with a bath.
If you can pack light, you should have no issue. Pick up food and water at or near your destination.
Oh and don't take Bucko's advice and drive around with people in the camper.
People in the vehicle count towards the BS's GVWR as does the hitch weight.
If you load about 300lbs of gear properly you should be able to get that hitch weight closer to 200 getting you the perfect tow ratio.

I tow a 12" Taylor Coach Bobbie with my Badlands. Loaded its about 1,700lbs. I have towed it about 20,000 miles so far this year.

I've said it once, I'll say it again. I love your Badlands. You're the OG before the Free Wheeling edition (and without the funky wheels).

Where did I advise to driving around with people in the camper while pulling an already too heavy camper at 1700 pounds?
