Don't know about the visor from an Escape, but could go this route. ?

Instead of spending money, I just put the opener in the sunglass compartment up top. Flip it open when I need to use it.

I just clipped it to the sunvisor, looks dumb but gets the door open. I also have a door opener with the wifi app thing. It's nice, but sometimes not as reliable as the standard opener. I had the homelink in the headliner of my last car, have to admit it was pretty nice. I could see someone spending $100 ish to add it.

I thought about replacing the sun visor with homelink as well, but decided on a 5 cent option instead and it works. I used double sided tape and stuck to the top of the console pocket area. It's discrete from a seating position. One can also use velcro instead for easy removal when you take it in for service.

It seem like soon you will be able to just swap the left sun visor.

Here is my solution, I added a auto dimming Homelink mirror I had leftover from a Miata I owned, works like a charm.
