Every other CMS for a car is a system that compartmentalizes the cargo to keep the trunk organized. The Ford option doesn’t identify that the CMS is a table and not an organization system.
But... it does that?
Ford Bronco Sport Adding Cargo Management System - Here's Part Numbers and Cost to Retrofit Captur

Ford makes explicit help videos for their options.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like the CMS. I don't like the weight limits and I don't like the "flanged" interior. I don't like that you have to cut the cargo floormat to use the "divide" option. It could be much better thought out. But it is exactly what it is called.

Ok, Ford allowed countless video bloggers [...] Ford didn’t make sure the thing the blogger was highlighting [...]
What planet do you live on where you believe that Ford gets to allow or disallow what a YouTube content creator says or does? That's not how that works. Ford, and companies like it, do not get to control the content of people providing reviews on their products and services.

On Ford's website, it ought to have made it more clear that this was a time-of-order option only and that it cannot be added later. That's a big miss. But the other stuff you mentioned is nuts.

The video that Glamdring posted above has been on Ford's site since at least 2021 and shows all of the configurations and utilities of the CMS. So, if a person couldn't understand what the CMS did, that's not Ford's fault ... that's the person's fault for not looking.

First, there are enough Sports on the lot with CMS that if you really want it, trade yours in for one with CMS (if you can get decent interest). I wouldn't even think about trying to retrofit it for what the parts cost. I ordered it with mine and I have used it a few times. I took my teenagers to band camp and it was invaluable to stack items onto the CMS. Most of the time it just serves as a visual barrier to see what's back there. The thing was it was only $195 when I ordered it. Just didn't see any reason not to. However, I am glad I have it and it has proven its worth for its price point. Seems like lots of dealers have taken to ordering it on their dealer builds now that they know more about it.

You can consider building a 10 inch high table to split your cargo. It's not the strongest, but neither is the cms table.

It’s Ford’s responsibility to ensure the video person properly represents their vehicle. They do this by making sure the blogger understands the specifics of the vehicle before they take control of it to shoot their video. It’s an easy concept.

Can you show me where on the Ford Bronco Sport build site the video you posted is listed?

Further, if it’s promoted as a table it’s not a cargo management system.

I don’t even know how to respond to this.

Please show us where it’s promoted as a table only. I’ve never seen it promoted as just a table.

This thing is, first and foremost, a cargo cover and a bulkhead for creating a 2 compartment rear storage area and multi-tier storage area. Honestly, I think the designers came up with the table concept as an afterthought after asking themselves “what else could this thing be? it’s clever but I don’t think it was it’s primary purpose by any stretch.

The video isn't posted on the build site. But there are not any videos posted on the build site. Do you need a video to know what the floor liners are for? You keep talking about it being promoted as a table, but the name of it is in fact "Cargo Management System" and that is how it is in fact described on the build site:

Ford Bronco Sport Adding Cargo Management System - Here's Part Numbers and Cost to Retrofit 1696989326284

Looks like they are using it for cargo in the picture.

Well, good thing you don't have to.
Now I have to. What kind of arrogance does it take to tell someone to just go and get another? There is no way that I am that fiscally irresponsible.

I assume you are driving a Ford and not a Land/ Range Rover for a reason but I won’t say why. Are you that arrogant and irresponsible?

I can agree with this. I can’t understand why they haven’t properly listed it, since it’s been around since 2021.

It’s hard to see and know what that is on the build site. And, since the build site doesn’t say CMS is also the table nobody knows, except for you.

It’s somehow more fiscally responsible to spend over a thousand dollars and tons of time (along with possibly screwing up your car) to retrofit something you could get for $195.

Ppl trade in cars all the time for many different reasons. Sometimes, many times, it’s because there is some option they wish they had but don’t. Right now the trade market is good. Depending on how long you had your Sport, it’s entirely possible you could trade it without a tremendous loss that you seem to imply is inevitable. I traded a 2019 Ram in for my 2022 F-150 and actually got what I paid for it after 2.5 years of driving it. That was during Covid and an extreme example, but the trade market still isn’t the “you lose15% when you drive it off the lot” days anymore either. What I’m reading from these posts is that parts alone for this retrofit are gonna run over $1k and labor costs will probably send close to $2k if not over. I would either live without it (I have it, it’s nice but not worth that) or use that $2k towards a new one with the option. Not sure why you think that is arrogant. At least then I spent my money on a vehicle with lower miles and a longer warranty
