Hi everyone! Got a call from my dealership that the fuse box in my engine came partially broken from the factory which caused all of the issues in my car. It’s incredibly shocking to hear that something as big as that passed the final checks in the factory. It’s going to be another week until i get my car back but i’m happy they found the problem and we have a solution. Hopefully it gets fixed sooner than that though! I’m hoping to contact Ford itself to complain about such an incredible misstep on their factory’s part and see what they can do.

Wow. That's a new one. Glad they discovered the issue.

I’d ask for some accessories if you haven’t already purchased them such as the all weather floor mats, cargo area mat, crossbars, etc. If anything they are more likely to part with some accessories and the retail value adds up quickly to us consumers, while the cost to them is probably quite low.

That didn’t work either! The service manager at the dealership couldn’t even resync it so he assumes it just completely died. I get an update from the dealer today so hopefully it’s a good one!
Try putting the key fob in the right side of the bottom tray of the center stack where the USB port and little rubber mat is located (not the center console). If you take out the mat you’ll find an indentation for the fob — the emergency start location for when fob battery is “dead”.
My ‘21 BL is one with a known “can’t see key” issue with no cure (long story). Whenever I have a start/key glitch, I just stick my fob on the mat and problem is cured. It’s not a big deal to me and I’m good to go and have been for 2 years and 20,000+ miles..

Hi everyone! Last week I purchased my brand new 2023 Bronco Sport Outerbanks and after 6 days of ownership and under 500KM on it my poor bronco has already broken down. While driving on the highway a bunch of alerts came on including the following
  • pre- Collision assist not available
  • Hill Start Assist Warning
  • Blind Spot system fault
  • lane keeping system malfunction
  • Stability light came on
  • powertrain malfunction / reduced power
  • Auto Start Stop button was on but not functioning
I kept driving fine despite the alerts and after a couple of minutes my blind spot monitors came back but everything else malfunctioned. When i checked my ford pass app only the three attached alerts were on my app.

I made an appointment at the closest dealership to where i was (not the dealer i purchased from) and they ran tests etc. and told me they ordered me some new parts and said my car was safe to drive off the lot because it was just sensor errors and to come back next week to have them installed. I drove off of the lot and all the alerts came back (they said to expect that) and i went to go get gas because it was 111KM away from empty. I filled my tank and then when i got back in my car, it said no key detected and refused to start. I tried to start the car from my ford pass app and the car wouldn’t start and it also wouldn’t lock or unluck the doors. It appeared like my car wasn’t responding to my fob or my ford pass app. Still now my ford pass app hasn’t updated since friday (acknowledging the gas or its location) and i’m incredibly worried. The dealer was able to tow it back to the dealership and the guy said that my fob must have died. I’m just so confused, the car was only six days old, brand new from the dealer and it has more problems than the 18 year old Honda Pilot i was driving before i bought this one. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice? I would really really appreciate if. I’m both very upset and very worried.
We have a 2021 Big Ben that did the same this last month, I suggest a new battery be installed and it fired back up and is running fine . I suggest that everyone stop using that start stop nonsense. I personally have a 2021 First Edition and have never used that . Mine has never had a problem. I have been on this site for about 3 years now and have seen too many complaints concerning the start stop issues. All my opinions based on personal observations .

Does anybody with the stop/start eliminator installed have these battery problems seen here?

I've had the start/stop eliminator on mine since the beginning and after 12k miles I've had no issues (knock on wood). I also do not have an AGM battery (it's supposedly an EFB by part number). Cheers!

2021 Badlands here with this installed and no issues. Getting close to 18k on odometer.
Looks like the stop/start may contribute to battery issues. I turn it off after starting.
However, I believe the Badlands doesn't have the same battery issues as the 1.5L.

We have a 23 OBX with about 5k miles, car has been flawless. We also own a Ford Expedition. Their have been several different posts in Expedition Forum having all kinds of weird electrical issues including sensor errors that were corrected by replacing the battery. People have reported these issues, despite the car starting fine with the original battery, but after replacement the issues are resolved. I have also read posts where they report having a bad ground connection somewhere in the vehicle.

I suspect Ford uses the same battery management system in all its vehicles. It seems to be really finicky about system voltage.

I think you are really jumping to conclusion here, though you did use the word "may". There are thousands of BSs on the road and I'm guessing less than 10% of people either disable start/stop every time they drive or have an eliminator. It may seem like a big problem on this forum, but overall the number of weak/failed batteries is relatively low.

I think that I have disabled start/stop just a couple of times in 10 months and 11k miles. I have not had any problems with the battery. That is only a sample of 1, so no real conclusion can be drawn from my experience. There should also no be any conclusions drawn from the few that have commented that they disable start/stop and have not had any battery issues.

About 20 years ago we purchased a brand new Saturn VUE crossover. About 2 weeks after taking delivery, the vehicle wouldn't start. No lights, no relays clicking, no nothing. Had it flat bedded to the dealer. They called 2 days later and said that the main electrical wiring harness connector was damaged during assembly at the factory and wouldn't stay connected. They replaced the main wiring harness connector and we never had another hiccup with the vehicle during the 3yrs/65K miles we owned it.

Stuff happens. The dealer had the car back to us within a week and we didn't push the issue with Saturn.
