Happy to hear Ford helped you out! That does not always happen, but kudos to them for doing so. Customer retention at its finest.Well it was the 4wd module as correctly assessed by @rugedraw. 600+ part, 900+ labor. Unfortunately I was 3k out of warranty and even though I am under time of warranty. While the dealer said they couldn't do a courtesy warranty repair. @Ford G_d bless them did offer assistance. I'm not sure what the determining factor was but I have a 25+ years history of owning fords and long service history with my local Ford dealer. So again thank you Ford.
In case like yours with the codes your truck had, reprogramming the module is something you try just to rule out the easy stuff first, but I would assume it would not fix the issue 99% of the time.@rugedraw the dealer stated they did try to reprogram the module but weren't successful. Do you have any idea if this ever works? Also I was told this part would not have a 3 or 5 year warranty like the original part. Does anybody have any idea why? I also wanted to state that I understand why Ford wouldn't make this a full warranty service, I won't go on about that here, but if you think about this it does make sense. I wish Ford did have better warranties. Not making comparisons, but KIA, you'll never catch me driving one. Anyways, @Ford for life, they have a lifelong customer. I was before this, but I will be eternally grateful that someone in an office completely disconnected from me put me on hold to talk to a supervisor and offered me help. When was the last time you ever felt corporate America cared for you?
@Ford .. a ghost
Gone but not forgottenThe real Ford account is @Ford Motor Company and is managed by a guy named Brian. I am not sure how much of a presence he has on this forum since the BS market is small compared to other Ford vehicles, but he has a lot of presence on the F150, Mach E and Lightning forums.
Yea, that same message was posted on other Ford forums, too, but the account came back live and he is quite involved on the other forums.
For me, it's just a force of habit to say truck at this point since I've spent so much time on the F150 forums. I've slipped up and called a Mach E a truck on that forum, too.THats hilarious. I call it a truck too when I don't call it a Bronco. Never a Bronco Sport. It's a Bronco.
