We have not broke 25 MPG. Any mode, all driving conditions. No idea how ya'll are getting close to 40. ?‍♂
Cause y'all are normal people! Most others on here must be sum type of aliens ? or sumtin. I be like "I can't drive 55!!!!" Spool up those turbos and let them breath. Sometimes just sometimes my Badlands gets 22mpg and I'm like dang! Then my Bronco Raptor gets like 14 mpg and I'm like dang again! Y'all see my conundrum?
40mpg mumble... that's crazy..mumble... 55 mph... mumble...mother starship are you there?

This was all in good fun if you take this seriously then you may be an alien...?

My gas mileage on a Big Bend has consistently been over 31mpg for over 1.5 yrs. I drive in NORMAL mode, rarely switch to SPORT mode. I don't gun it when the light turns green, and yet I do drive fast. Running the AC in the summer definitely drops the mpg closer to 31mpg.

I put mine on Eco mode as a regular part of my startup Routine.

I also am super light on the gas and try my best to keep it under 60mph (cruise control usually set between 55-58) for maximum fuel efficiency.

Good day all, its been awhile since I've posted but I like this thread. I've had my OB for almost 2 yrs now. The first thing I did was changed out the exhaust for a Cat-Back system and changed out the intake for a CAI that uses the factory air scope. Together with full syn oil, using cruise as much as possible, auto-stop, higher tire pressure and staying at the speed limit I get an avg of 33-34 mpg. That figure is based on 34500 miles of driving. I adjusted the fuel bias using the Engineering Test Mode at 10K and 20K. The factory setting was close to 10% higher than the actual mpg I was getting so my figures are spot on with the math. Using a higher than 87 octane fuel gives me about 2% higher mpg but the cost doesn't offset the gain. It does run better though, especially if you use ethanol free fuel.
It takes consistant driving habits to get this kind of mpg. In my case I am in south Florida, its flat as a table everywhere and temperatures are between 60 to 95 year round depending on the season. Living in the mountain states or the snow belt its going to hard to get that kind of mpg. The one thing I could suggest is to calculate your true mpg after 3 or 4 tanks, more is better. Than adjust your Fuel Bias to reflect a more accurate number. Without modifying like I did just drive consistently conservative but at the speed limit and use Cruise Control as much as possible. And if city driving use the dreaded Auto-Stop, it saves fuel! Eco Mode is just a gimmick, it subdues throttle inputs and transmission shifting, and thats it. Other than that I love my OB. Now that the 36000 mile mark is approaching I'm hoping I dont start having out of warranty issues that Fords are known for. Happy holidays all.

If I fill up near my house, the trip meter shows about 10 mpg when I get home. Which is better than the 6 mpg from my previous ride on the same route. Of course it’s a short trip and all uphill, so not really representative of anything.

30.4 MPG on a 2017 mile trip from Central Ohio to NYC then upstate and back to Ohio.

I drove 55 MPH the whole trip other than when I was in the city. Got a little loose driving in and around NYC which really screwed up my average.

In all my 43+ years of driving with over 40+ cars, I've never seen 45 MPG or better. I doubt I even saw 40 MPG, or even 35 MPG...

31 mpg is still good for what the Bronco is, a brick with wheels) My trip was over 95% hwy/freeway, 3' above sea level, flat and level, 80/90 degrees. I have a custom exhaust, custom intake, higher tire pressure and a few other tweaks that help increase mpg. Plus I used Intelligent Cruise 95% of the way as well. Altogether and the fact I had no headwinds helped out.
What exhaust and intake?

According to studies backed by the department of energy, the average car will be at its advertised MPG at 55 mph. But as the speed increases:

- 3% less efficient at 60 mph
- 8% less efficient at 65 mph
- 17% less efficient at 70 mph
- 23% less efficient at 75 mph
- 28% less efficient at 80 mph
The effect is more dramatic for our vehicles, for two reasons.

I also own an EcoBoost Mustang which is a heckuva lot more aerodynamic than our Bronco Sport. In the Mustang, increasing speed results in a very dramatic drop in MPG that I eventually determined to be related to when the extra speed resulted in the turbo kicking in more often (or at 75+ MPH, stays in the boost all the time)... it sips fuel until the turbo kicks on the boost, then it drinks it like a V8.

So we have that to consider, plus the brick shape aerodynamics will also come into play at high speeds.

I installed an aFe (Advanced Flow Engineering) Momentum GT CAI w/Pro 5R Filter. On the exhaust I installed 2 Vibrant Performance 2.25 Ultra Quiet Resonators with 2, 3" exhaust tips, which sound awesome! Intake and exhaust complement each other, mpg increased roughly 18-20%, not sure about HP but it is noticable in a subtle way.

Holy cow! Hill country areas in Texas are always above 60mph. I used to get 30+ mpg in PNW now i’m only getting 20-22mpg combined using normal or sport mode.
