Good deal, but service writers just tell us what they want us to hear. No water pump is going to be good if there is grit in unflushed fluid.

You will be joining the 3rd water pump club, there are others as well. .
Have not heard of any 4th timer's.
I’ll keep the Forum posted!
has to be an end link. you would know if you did something to bend your whole anti sway bar.
The vehicle never leaves the highway, so no, we haven't done anything to damage it. The mechanic couldn't explain it either.

I just traded mine in. I'm going to come back in a few years and hopefully they'll have most of the issues that people keep coming back in for like water pumps and maybe they will address the issues with the injectors. Until then I need a car I can depend on but I haven't given completely up yet.

2025s have virtually no issues

Thanks. I will consider that. I've defended The Bronco Sport many times with the "All cars have issues and recalls" argument but the fact that numerous people are on their third and fourth water pumps along with the well known fuel injector issues. I decided to go in another direction. 2 other dealers that I spoke with when discussing trading in the Bronco already knew about the water pump and fuel injector problems and tried to lower the value because of this. One guy said "These things ain't nothing but problems...everyone knows this.

Should specify its some ‘21-‘24 1.5L models which exhibit the issues you listed but the 2025s are a different design

Some Salespeople love to talk up a vehicle when it’s being sold to someone and reverse their tongues when taking in a trade even for the same vehicle - it’s well known how some salespeople behave

I did ask the tech last week if the coolant system was being flushed each time they replaced the water pump? Yes it is. Our Bronco was being checked over after a “Shift Fault” message popped up 3 times on one 165 mile drive. Turns out it was a software update issue. He was going to charge me $107 of the $150 bill to do the update. I talked him out of charging me anything after he said that also should take care of a “hill assist fault” that been showing up since it was new and had not been addressed previously when I had informed since it first happened.. He told me to connect our Bronco to our home wifi and it will automatically update our car as needed! I wasn’t aware that was an option. It’s set up now.

I have a 2024 BS Big Bend with the 1.5L, I just went in for my 20k service and my guy told me that my water pump was leaking. I took it to Ford this morning and I am getting my first water pump replaced. What sucks is I just spent 3k getting a HRG 2.5" lift kit and off-road tires installed, it looks great but now I don't know if I can trust it to not be a money pit!

Suggestions?

Buy the Ford ESP extended warranty through one of the 3 internet Ford sales sites
Will help with the sleep at night factor

What does your dealership do for a 20k service? I skip those and get The Works

What really sucks is that we have to ask, beg and remind the Ford trained mechanics that we trust to work on our cars to please flush the system.

# 3 installed today , 33K . Cost ,Warranty with a $ 100 deductible + tax.
Can you check if the “C” part was used? The water pump part number should be on your dealership paperwork

Some think the “C” part number should correct the issue with failing pumps but I have my doubts

Just had my Badlands serviced at the dealer yesterday. Talked with the service writer about how many Sports he has seen or written up with bad waterpumps, transmissions or RDU's and he said very few and there are a lot of them on the road.
He then said for most people vehicle's are the most complex appliance they interact with on a daily basis and just take them for granted and when something goes wrong that's when the bad mouthing starts.

Wait , three water pumps in 33K miles , we are thinking of trading the BS in because , I don't think it's going to last 100K . I'm not even going to look to see what classification the Pump is , I don't trust it any more then the last one .

My wife loves this vehicle , but as an investment , its not been a good one , sure its under warranty for these repairs , but RDU, Water Pumps , Injectors , its not looking good for the end of my EXTENDED warranty .

As far as what a service writer says , well he works for Ford , did you think he was going to tell you they get them every day or so many a week/month ?

My time taking it in & taking the wife to work/picking up, is a pain in the A$$ , what's your time worth ? I told her if she wants to keep it past the warranty , to keep $ 10/15 K in her account for possible future repairs , something I have never had to think about in any vehicle I have ever owned .

My Sprinter is 10X more sophisticated then the BS & in Four years , I have had two software updates .

Rant over . I'm done !
