Whenever I read these statements from the auto manufacturers that say they are delaying or postponing EV's due to slow sales or low demand, are they even considering that its the price they want for the current ones?

I really like my Ford F-150's I've owned over the years but good lord, $90K and up for an EV 150?

An average of 50 to 60 K for an EV car or SUV?

Good ol’ CA seems to be staying the course — all new cars EV by 2035, 50% next year. BS is probably my last vehicle unless I figure out how to exit.

They see the writing on the wall. EVs are the latest attempt in securing a future for their business. So they'll lobby the governments and blow billions on marketing. Just to keep everyone trapped in the past with car dependency and wasted resources.

In 2021 Congress agreed to fund the current administration's goal to build tens of thousands of EV charging stations to the tune of 7.5 billion dollars. As of the end of 2023, none have been built. Getting chargers up and running across the country is essential to reaching this administrations goal of having half the vehicles sold in the United States be electric by the end of the decade — a key cog of his climate agenda. Americans consistently say the lack of charging infrastructure is one of the top reasons they won’t buy an electric car.

EVs have exactly the same "inconveniences" that they had when Tesla started in heavy with the Model S:
- Very slow "refueling."
- Limited range in hot, cold, or when towing.
- Limited refueling locations
Until battery science can find new solutions to those first 2 limitations, EVs will remain a niche product for pioneers, and eco-evangelists, and politicians.

I see regular news stories now that finally admit we can't produce enough power to plug all this crap in. Even if they put charging stations in at every corner gas station, we couldn't energize them. Won't matter to the people that orchestrated the big push to EV- they already got paid.

Yes you are correct that the US power grid can't produce enough power for the expected needs.

Upgrading the power grid is absolutely necessary regardless if EVs existed or not. Its cost will run $1T to multiple trillions of dollars. It’s going to create huge numbers of jobs across many industries. And train lots of people into good paying jobs. One of the thoughts being considered is local power generation and storage regionally, down to neighborhoods but the most exciting is power generation and storage at each home, apartment building, etc. as well as streets that will charge the EVs driving on them.

The US used to be #1 in chip manufacturing and by 2030 with existing chip manufacturing plants and new plants coming online is expected to produce 20% of the world’s chips. These are power hungry plants.

The US absolutely needs to overhaul and upgrade the power grid and capacity.
