Hopefully you'll be able to do it. Honestly Forscan is easier imo. Once the adapter is plugged in to the car and laptop it takes a few clicks to disable it.

I’m sure it is, but it also requires a laptop and a cable and maybe a subscription. (I don’t know if it can be done without the subscription) All that is much more than the $100 and little effort with the eliminator.

The adapter is $35 to $70.

Exactly this. I think I paid around $65 for my OBD2 adapter and that's Canadian dollars, far cheaper for USA folks. I just used the free trial to do all of my changes with forscan, as for a laptop, I'm pretty sure every single person on here has at least one friend or family member or co-worker that has a Windows based phone, laptop or home PC. You literally only need it for 5 minutes, and with the adapter being Bluetooth you can be 100 ft away from it and still do the programming.
Back a few years ago when I had my F-150, it was parked out in the driveway and my only Windows based computer was my home computer inside and I did all my programming on the truck from my office lol.

I can't give you an exact link to it since I bought it like 5 years ago. But I can tell you it's an OBD link. MX+. It is Bluetooth and has about a 30 m range or 100 ft roughly. It works flawlessly. I actually leave it plugged in all the time so I can just link to it when I need to. I also don't lose it that way which I learned the hard way just after I first bought it. And I know for a fact this will work with f-150s Bronco sports Jeep Renegades and Ram 1500s for sure LOL
It's actually worked really well with forscan and with Alpha OBD for programming Fords and anything Dodge Chrysler stelantis Jeep whatever name they're under

Did this actually happen to you? If it did I would get the system checked by your dealer. The engine should not have turned off in below freezing temperature just like auto start/stop will not turn the engine off in hot weather above a certain temperature which I noticed to be above 90 degrees.

Why does the engine not always stop when I expect it to?
The system is designed to work in a way that complements other vehicle systems, allowing them to operate at optimum performance.

The system does not stop the engine if:
• The driver door is open.
• Your vehicle is at high altitude.
• The heated windshield is on.
• The engine is warming up.
• The outside temperature is too low or too high.
• The battery charge is low.
• The battery temperature is outside the optimal operating range.
• The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging

• Your vehicle is at high altitude. - I wonder what is considered high altitude? I live at 4,400 ft and the system on my vehicle works more often than it doesn't. I BELIEVE it also worked when I took it to Flagstaff and that's over 7,000 ft (it's been a couple months so I need to head back there to verify my memory hasn't left the building).
• The outside temperature is too low or too high. - Outside temps have been well over 100 degrees here and again, it works more often than not.
• The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging. - With the high temps I'm always running Max A/C and the auto start-stop works more often than not.

I'll be taking it in to the dealer for it's first oil change soon and I'll ask them to check the system out.

Well that's 100% a faulty system because if your AC is running on Max the vehicle will not shut off with auto start stop. Same thing for extreme cold temperatures. Your vehicle does not shut off with auto start stop.

This is a non issue. The engine starts when your right foot releases the brake pedal. By the time your foot is pressing the accelerator pedal the engine is running.

If you use both feet to drive, one foot on the brake and the other foot on the accelerator, then you may have an issue.

Not with the Brake Hold feature active.

I miss the days when Ford announced "New" features. Seams like every year all you hear is the word "Removed". Looks like the 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch with every option installed was the one with the most features.

Yeah my Escape Titanium was becoming a money pit and needed a repair that wasn’t worth the cost so I was forced to buy something. And I feel like it was perfect timing and I lucked out getting my 2025 OBX last year. I got the bigger screens, rain sensing wipers which I use all the time, wireless phone charger (although it doesn’t really work with the case that’s on my phone) and the bit nicer looking (in my opinion) OBX wheels.

… 2026 started taking away some of that so 2025 is kind of a unique year for the OBX.

So if I understand the 2026 Order Guide correctly, this is another deletion for 27. Per the 26 order guide the 26 Badlands came standard with the leather trimmed mini perforated front seats.

My 25 Escape Platinum lost the leather trimmed seats also. Ford, if you are listening, I bought the 25 Escape because you were discontinuing it. You may have lost me as future customer. We will see. Not sure how I feel about loosing the leather trimmed seats even if it really is only in the part of the seat that you are sitting in, not the sides. My concern is longevity of the ActiveX vs Leather trimmed but I definitely will not miss the mini perforations that I have to vacuum to get little pieces of dirt out of the perforations.

The auto start/stop issue is also a safety issue. Sometimes you need to accelerate immediately and the slight delay in waiting for the engine to start could be a problem.

This happened to me yesterday. I didn’t realize I hadn’t turned it off which I’ve gotten in the habit of doing every time I manually start it. My first thought was well that’s not very safe.

I was at an uncontrolled T intersection waiting for at least a small break in heavy traffic to make a left turn. Had my tunes cranked with the sub pounding and didn’t notice my engine wasn’t running. Saw my brief opportunity and got a bit of a surprise when I went to quickly remove my foot from the brake and hit the accelerator.

Pretty sure I had brake hold on too cuz I almost always do.

I think Ford’s decision to remove Auto Start-Stop from the Bronco Sport is primarily financial. With the regulatory incentives gone, there’s less reason to keep installing a system that reportedly adds $300–$400 to the cost of each vehicle. It allegedly saves some fuel and emissions, but arguably not enough to justify the added complexity and wear. From Ford’s perspective, eliminating a few hundred dollars in cost per vehicle—especially for a feature few buyers will miss—is an easy business decision.

Key words regulatory incentives gone. ... without that it likely never would have been installed.
