This is a non issue. The engine starts when your right foot releases the brake pedal. By the time your foot is pressing the accelerator pedal the engine is running.

If you use both feet to drive, one foot on the brake and the other foot on the accelerator, then you may have an issue.
This still doesn’t inspire confidence when it’s bellow freezing and your stoped at a light with a fully loaded steel truck barreling down on you from behind and you’re pretty sure it’s going to stop 20’ past where your sitting. I prefer my engine to keep running thanks.

Not to me. There are times when I want the car to move immediately, there is no way one with a stopped engine can do that.

I love auto stop start! Everytime it turns off, I am using less gas and reducing overall emissions.
So basically 350 miles per year in that Mustang before you've chewed up the savings.

Did this actually happen to you? If it did I would get the system checked by your dealer. The engine should not have turned off in below freezing temperature just like auto start/stop will not turn the engine off in hot weather above a certain temperature which I noticed to be above 90 degrees.

From the 25 owner manual:
AUTO-START-STOP – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why does the engine not always stop when I expect it to?
The system is designed to work in a way that complements other vehicle systems, allowing them to operate at optimum performance.

The system does not stop the engine if:
• The driver door is open.
• Your vehicle is at high altitude.
• The heated windshield is on.
• The engine is warming up.
• The outside temperature is too low or too high.
• The battery charge is low.
• The battery temperature is outside the optimal operating range.
• The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging

Yup sure was different. I tried the one from 4DTech that goes in the footwell. That one is clearly way easier. I see they have the footwell one too.

this one does go in better, but i had to go with the 4Dtech version, since the 2026 models no longer have wifeless charging pad. i know however that the footwell bolt cover thing does "bend" out of the way so you can install it.

this video shows it @ 1:44

Maybe its easier to bend in the 26s, but in my 25 there is no way in hell my hand or the average person is bending it. It can only bend slightly down but then its hitting the wire. The right side is fastened so you can't bend it to the left like the video.

Hopefully you'll be able to do it. Honestly Forscan is easier imo. Once the adapter is plugged in to the car and laptop it takes a few clicks to disable it.

Darn lol
It looks like the rivet on the 26s on the right side of the bracket are different and facing out so that should make it way easier to do what you need to do. Mine just has 1 going through the left side to the right.

This was a helpful video. I hadn’t gotten too much into it because I haven’t bought mine yet, but had read a bit. People mentioned it being installed in the foot well wall. I assumed driver side footwell, but it is actually in the passenger side footwell under the console. I would have been looking for that thing forever. Lol
