Ran over a rock in the desert and ended up with a busted engine mount, as can be seen through the hole in the skid plate.

Another look at the failure once I got home and took the skid plate off:

The part isn't terribly expensive and it seems pretty easy to replace, so I placed the order (Part #: JX6Z6E042G) through Ford Parts. I got word today that the part is on backorder and they are not able to even provide an estimated timeline. Two main questions:
  1. If I drop this off at a dealer and they place the order for the part, do they get any sort of extra information or priority over a consumer ordering the part? At this point, getting the part sooner and having the dealer install is more cost effective than waiting longer and doing it myself.
  2. Once I finally get the part, anything else I should be looking at before buttoning things back up and hitting some trails again? I would drive it around and listen for weird noises, but anything that may not be particularly obvious?

Can it be removed and welded?

This could at least get you operating with some sort of normal working order until the part is once again replaceable.

Or, start chasing junkyards.

I found a couple of the pieces, but not enough to complete the loop. I've also got 0 welding experience or tools, so I would have to bring it to a shop. Is this something that a shop would take on?
I'm planning on hitting up some junkyards this weekend.

Try other online Ford dealers, Rock Auto, Ebay, etc.

I checked out RockAuto, but they didn't have one that matched.
Ebay didn't even occur to me! I even used ebay this weekend to order the service manual. I'll check tonight. Thanks!

I hope you have mechanic experience if you plan on replacing that motormount.
For the badlands and first edition you need drop the front subframe to take out the extra long lower motormount that is made for us.
I found that out the hard way when i purchased the boomba maverick motormount. The Maverick and 1.5 broncos use a shorter motormount that can just come out once you remove it.
It is impossible for us via those instructions.
What i did when i changed to this harder motormount was to lower the front subframe slighty, untreading bolts bit by bit til i had enough barely enough space.
Guess what. Not enough space unless you actually drop it. I love when ford does dumb shit like this.
So i ended up using my Milwaukee sawsaw and chopped the long mount in half and used the lower subframe to slide out the deeper part

I looked at your image a bit more and looks like ite already cut in half. But if you buy the original motormount you will still need to full drop the subframe.
I recommend the boomba motormount.
Its shorter then ours but more stiffer as its made for Mavericks trying to drag race. I prefer it a lot then the original especially as i am tuned cause i noticed when the transmission shifts sometimes you feel the entire motor bang when going up inclines(tested this going up steep dirt banks and steep parking garages.)
It will definitely vibrate your car when you first install it but only really in 1St gear and after a few hundred miles it gets softer
