Definitely sounds like a scary experience! Our boat trailer is older, and we will be fixing the lights. Fortunately I had zero issues, and we weren't driving a very long distance that trip.
Pulled great! The only issue had to do with the trailer lights wiring. They have a short in them, so when plugged in to the BS it kept flashing the warning "connected"/"disconnected", so, make sure your wiring is good! Otherwise, it did awesome, and I'm not an expert at towing...
My BL and I towed the boat to the lake and back this weekend. It did awesome! We also hooked it up to the camper to see how it would ride... not bad! It was full of water, so way heavier than the dry weight of about 1800 lbs.
Me too! I even had one drive past me as I turned off the road. I actually rolled down the window to give a big wave. He just looked and kept driving... Alrighty then...?
I think that's the $10,000 question, nobody knows yet. My service guy called me back and there's no update to the bulletin, so he's reaching out to his contact at Ford about it.
Maybe not a recall, but they are certainly aware of unusual noises. See my post a few pages back with the service bulletin. Take in to your dealer and have them drive with you to listen to the noises. Feel free to share the service bulletin with them too. Noise fix for the cable rattle is still...
I tried to live with the A.S.S. system, but in the end decided, why should I just live with it? So, my husband and I installed the Eliminator tonight. I will say that we had a harder time than the OP unplugging the data plug. Couldn't get the right angle to hold the tab in and pull at the same...
