  1. SoCal Thread

do you have a black badlands? I’ve seen one a few times in north county. I have an Area 51 big bend and live in north county San Diego also. keen to do some trails. I’ve been out to anza borrego, East county, and around Palomar mountain
  2. Leather Steering Wheel Covers?

It will work perfectly. No issues here. I’ve done this on a VW and it’s literally plug and play.
  3. Who's hoping for a Manual Transmission?

I have zero desire for a manual ever again with the exception of a weekend car. the bronco sport is not suited at all to a manual and it is not a particularly fun vehicle to drive. MPG would plummet and automatic cruise functions and safety systems wouldn’t work. on top of this I live in...
  4. Bronco Sport Off-Roading Capabilities

yes I view something like a jeep as a poor daily driver, but great off road. I view a car like the bronco sport as a daily car that can also go off road
  5. Post Your Bronco Sport - Off-Roading Videos

Hahaha thanks for reposting my videos!!
  6. Big bend tire sizes -- what AT tires won’t rub??

Probably 235/70/r17 as long as it’s not too aggressive of a tread pattern. I believe the largest without a lift would be around 30 inches
  7. Bronco Sport Off-Road Driving Impressions

I have a big bend model and have been similarly impressed! where is that trail? It looks like the same one I did near the Palomar divide truck trail
  8. Thinking of changing trim

The badlands interior is essentially the same as the big bend unless you order the badlands package. the badlands has better seats with more bolstering.
  9. Bronco Sport Off-Roading Capabilities

I’ve have taken my big bend off road twice. the car is off road capable but it’s not a body on frame truck and won’t perform to that level. It’s a light to moderate off roader. More than a soft roader and less than a dedicated vehicle. it performs really good for what it is
  10. Bronco Sport Outer Banks on Aftermarket 17" Wheels and Tires

there shouldn’t be because these are 65 series tires in 17 inch wheels. will 70 series rub? Probably not but unaware if anyone tested it yet
  11. 1.5L Dragon Reviews and Impressions in other Vehicles

if you inflate the tires more, use intelligent cruise, and have no roof rack 30 mpg would be attainable. my roof rack really cuts down the mpg
  12. 1.5L Dragon Reviews and Impressions in other Vehicles

i have never felt that it was underpowered. I keep seeing people say this kind of stuff like this car will be a dog but we never had trouble accelerating cars with less power 10 years ago. Nobody complains that an X3 Base model is slow. I am averaging 24.5 MPG driving around north county San Diego
  13. Very Impressed with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+

you can set it to whatever you want
  14. Video: off-roading Anza-borrego desert in my Area 51 Big Bend

im thinking of getting the sumitomo encounter a/t 235/70/r17. it has a tire height of 30.5 and a long treadwear rating. Only $150/per tire too. I also might actually go to the dealer I bought the car and see if I can use my ford pass points. We get 42000 points for buying the car. I’m also...
  15. Video: off-roading Anza-borrego desert in my Area 51 Big Bend

I thought I read somewhere the very maximum tire height is 30.5 inches without modifications. I think rubbing will be determined not by height, but why width and tread pattern. A BFG K02 or k03 will run easier than something like a wild peak. hahah take that as you will as I’m not a tire expert...
  16. Video: off-roading Anza-borrego desert in my Area 51 Big Bend

possibly but I’m not too sure. That boulder was at least 1.5 feet tall, What it hit was the exhaust which has a dent in the side of it. I don’t have a picture of the car on the jack but we had to jack it up over a foot to get it off of it. there was sand up to undercarriage on the front wheels...

amazon basics large length crossbars. $59 can’t beat them for that price. They whistle a little bit but any type of crossbar of that style that is a load bar does. Amazonbasics 2-Piece Heavy-Duty Universal Cross Rail Roof Rack, 56 inches...

  19. Video: off-roading Anza-borrego desert in my Area 51 Big Bend

Went out for the day to anza-borrego desert in my Area 51 big bend and drove through fish creek wash. The car performed well and got lots of interest until we got stuck on a rock reversing out of the wrong side of the trail lol. We bent the exhaust and that was no other damage. We had to use the...
  20. Owner's review: Bronco Sport Big Bend first trip off-road

to be totally honest if I were you and I was most concerned about off road performance I would get the badlands. Mainly for the underbody protection. Considering most people going off road will upgrade to all terrains the badlands is a good value. in terms of trails anything that is ranked easy...
