the Cherokee Trailhawk was on my short list too. The mechanical locker, actual low drive and Tow capacity on the Jeep made it compelling. I couldn’t find one that wasn’t overpriced locally so I ended up with the Subaru. . I just put some 15” KO2’s on it and it’s fine on the forest roads we...
100% I did the same and now have a used 2020 Crosstrek (I know, a Lezbaru) that I picked up with 2300 miles on it. It's certainly not the BS badlands I had hoped for but it's not bad at all. I saved myself about 10K and I'll just wait a few more years for the dust to settle. I do blame Ford...
this thread mentioned that production on the 2022's is supposed to start on 11/1/21. Now I'm not sure if that's legit but it's curious just the same:

taking a deposit on someone else’s special order is sketchy enough but requiring your SSN in addition is a new level of low even for car dealers. I’d run in the other direction
It is a great time to sell any used car, especially a sought after one. Pocket the 5K plus and if you need one later they'll be on Ford lots with under MSRP prices and incentives.
I’m convinced that date changes at the bottom now just mean they pointed it in another direction in the middle of the Sonoran Desert so it doesn’t get tan lines.
They're having a cooling trend in Hermisillo where our partially assembled Bronco Sports are sitting in the Sonoran Desert :frown:. I'm sure this will do wonders for them.
Unless it’s been sitting in a Mexican dessert for 5 months and then passed of as “new”. Not sure I really to pay the premium for “New” car that’s been part of Ford’s customer hot weather static test in Mexico.
Well I did it, I bought a used Crosstrek yesterday. So far I don't hate it. After 5 months with no car and the potential of another 5 months too delivery I couldn't wait any more. I just wish I known my order was going to get pushed that far out before I spent $1100 to rent a car 3 weeks ago...
This is the story of my Bronco Sport. How much do the dealers actually do at this point. Mine re-typed in the spec that I handed them, collected a $1000 deposit, and then sat on their ass and made nearly zero effort to let me know what was going on. They really aren't needed anymore.
I'm keeping my order but buying something in the interim. If I like it I'll keep it and perhaps sell the Bronco at a profit depending on the market when it arrives. I'm in Oregon so no sales tax which makes this a possibility.
