It is very nice to have and I am glad we got it even though it meant some delay. If you are like me, I'm planning to have the BS/BL with us for a long time so it is better to get something that you like for the long haul than just to get something quick and have some regrets.
there is a good thread dedicated to transceiver/ham setups. Lots of ideas. See https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/transceiver-installation-thread-ham-cb-gmrs-radio-unit-and-antenna-installation-on-bronco-sport.1487/post-39689
Do you have an idea about where we would drive? I went up around Skagit River which had pretty views of Mount Baker... if the clouds weren't out (ha).
I guess anywhere from around I90 to Highway 20 would be good.
This weekend, I took an offroad driving skills class from Will Gillette, a I4WDTA certified trainer with Backroad 4WD Training up a trail south of the Skagit River, Washington. I decided to do this rather than going to the Off Roadeo (which would have taken three days and nearly a thousand...
I posted pics at https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/new-custom-overland-roof-rack-for-the-bs.2140/post-58066
i was surprised by how much I liked this tent. Tall, warm enough, and having access to the tailgate turned out to be great. No bugs. And super easy to drive away and leave it...
Used my Bronco Sport today to provide communication support for the Lake Ty triathlon. Bikes passed me and shouted they loved the Sport. “What a great looking rig!”
Last week, we took the Sport on an extended camping trip in the Olympics in Washington state. On the ferry, we parked next to a Lamborghini. If you can believe it, both of us got looks. :cwl:
We have the Napier Sportz SUV tent which we got through our Ford dealer. Let's say I was initially...
I appreciate your inspiration and look forward to seeing your install!
Because of the tight fits, and the nice bracket under driver side, I decided to go with driver side.
With inspiration from @NavyBOFH and the good quality, Bronco Sport-specific A-Pillar bracket from Ford Ranger Lifts, I have done the install and successfully Tx/Rx. Except for my own user errors, it could not have been simpler. I hope!
Below are my notes. I invite any and all critiques and...
On Monday, I received my a pillar brackets from Ford Ranger Lifts. Hoping to start the install this weekend which side are you going to use? I haven’t decided yet.
The Spider lower profile rack looks awesome but I would also wonder about clearance. The moonroof angles up a bit when fully opened. The Yakima MegaWarrior has just enough clearance. Would be good to see it on a Badlands or FE.
in my hi-lift jack class, I learned of a very helpful app: https://www.safe-xtract.com/safe-xtract-vehicle-recovery-application/
It is handy, helping you work out different winching and recovery strategies for different situations and loads.
I just had a half-hour Q&A call with a Ford user experience rep. Just covering some of the basics about the Bronco Sport.
Going into the call, my main question for her was about antenna installation. She said, "I have to tell you that Ford does not support this, does not sell this. If you...
Hey folks in the Puget Sound, we should connect. Share ideas for drives and what makes the PNW a great place to have a Bronco Sport.
I'm Jim and live in Snohomish County. I have a BS Badlands that we got from Bickford Ford.
We have been on one camping trip, a "shakedown cruise" to Troublesome...
I reckon it is good to remember the different use cases for the two vehicles. the BS is capable for what it is and the big bronco is capable for what it is. And they are pretty different. I’m going to be ok with that. And expect to get some guff. I’m beyond thinking that size is the most...
