I really like Sirius, a lot of content choices, very few commercials. Sound is not as good as HD fm, but MP3 or most other digital formats aren't that great either. You can always find a deal that makes the Sirius subscription cost much less than retail which makes it a good deal.

So even after paying for it there are still some commercials? I thought one of the big attractions was no commercials. Is that a recent change?

I don't mean to piggy back onto this thread, but I am having an issue with siriusxm on my 2025 bronce sport big bend. Sometimes when I turn on the radio it will say "audio failure", but a second attempt will work fine. I have a feeling this is a sirius xm thing.

If you have a code scanner, check to see if it is reporting any codes. Many Ford vehicle platforms (Sync 4 vehicle in particular) have had issues with Sirius due to an issue with the ACM. If you don't have a code scanner and the vehicle is connected to the Ford app, message me the VIN and I can check.

that is all the more reason to get siriusXM the most talk shows you can ever want.
And no changing stations as you cross the country. I like being able to listen to a whole ball game without having to worry about reception.

I get it, everyone is different, but I have satellite radio in three vehicles and a 42' motor home. I wouldn't leave home without it.

You get commercial breaks when the original content has commercial breaks. There's no way around it. There's no way for Sirius/XM to fast forward through the commercial break on a live football game. Original programing doesn't have commercials.

That's great to hear!! Years and years ago, from Sears, we bought the $500 lifetime subscriber before Sirius and XM merged and I'm so glad we did that as I have been listening to that in all the vehicles I have, including my BS! The best thing I like about it in my newer vehicle is I can access the extra music channels that I could hear in my 2015 Mazda CX5!
I have the lifetime subscription on a portable device. I didn't buy it for a specific vehicle because initially you could only switch radio IDs three times over the life of the "Lifetime Contract". That has changed since Sirius/XM lost the court fight over that rule. I wish I'd bought more subscriptions. I paid $400 for mine around 2008.

Sirius runs their own advertising for its app or channels that may have special or limited time content, they also promote contests for Sirius sponsored events.
You may not feel like it's a commercial, either way it's not nearly as aggravating or as often as typical commercial runs on radio.

Sirius redefined lifetime multiple times, when I bought the lifetime membership in 2005 ($199), lifetime meant my lifetime no matter how many vehicles i transferred the subscription too

and yep the class action lawsuit properly restored our lifetime subscription:

Alvarez v. Sirius XM Radio Inc., Case No. 2:18-cv-08605-JVS-SS
If You Purchased A Subscription From Sirius XM That Was Marketed Or Sold As A “Lifetime Plan” Or “Lifetime Subscription” This Class Action Settlement Affects Your Rights

If, as of June 5, 2020, you held a Lifetime Subscription that is active (i.e. Active Lifetime Subscription), you will not have to do anything to receive the benefits provided by the Settlement

Plan on getting 2025 Bronco Sport
Good channel! I have that on one of my presets
So, speaking of presets. Having Android Auto, how does setting presets happen? I can't seem to figure it out and can't find any instructions on how to do that.

1. I never use the SiriusXM app on the phone, for me is too slow and buggy - instead I use SiriusXM that’s on the Sync screen (and i have Sync 3.4 while u have Sync 4)

I have this Sync setting: 30 presets selected which is the max for sync 3.4

2. Without CarPlay (or AA) active meaning these steps are from the Sync screen:

manually tune to each AM, FM and SiriusXM station you want as a preset and for each you hold down the channel displayed on the Sync screen until you see it’s accepted as one of the presets - repeat for each station, I have one AM station as a preset and about 5 FM stations and the rest of the presets are my favorite SiriusXM channels

Now you can use the steering wheel controls to step through each preset

you can have AA enabled or be on the sync screen and the steering wheel controls for programmed stations work
