Successful launch from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station!

The SXM-11 satellite is part of SiriusXM constellation refresh as will SXM-12 in 2027

SXM-11 is the most powerful high-powered satellite in SiriusXM’s fleet, SXM-11 will help enhance signal reception, expand coverage in Alaska, and support delivery of audio entertainment and information services across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean

SXM-11 and SXM-12 satellites were built to replace SiriusXM’s geostationary XM-5 and Sirius FM-5 satellites, which launched in 2010 and 2009

SiriusXM SXM-11 is expected to become fully operational in the late summer or fall of 2026

Never used Sirius, don't intend to. Car's already got a free AM/FM radio (which I also don't use) and my Apple Music subscription is free should I ever decide to use that. You might have gathered that I don't play music in the car, and you'd be right.

Now, when Starlink's built in, then I'll be interested.

Right there with you. I mostly listen to talk radio. Hardly listen to music. Music only plays when family or friends are in the car. I sure as heck am not paying for it.

Caught the tail end of the launch. I can see them from my backyard. The rumble from the engines hits my house several minutes after launch as a reminder if I didn't know one was going off and I can normally go outside and see the second stage if it's clear out.

Sirius is hands down one of the best $6 I spend each month. There is just no way I could drive as much as I do without it. There's no substitute during college football and NFL season when you're traveling and you can hop back and forth between all the games and see the scores on your screen.

I just wish Sirius would up the bit rate for music. I renewed for 5 bucks a month on my ‘25 OBX cuz there’s a station I use to discover new music in the genre I like, but then I purchase the full quality versions of the songs on my chosen store cuz the Sirius quality I find hard to listen to sometimes at louder volumes and it lacks highs.

That’s cool!! Night time launch last night - did you see the near full moon and the launch?

What is the SiriusXM station # if you don’t mind sharing

That's great to hear!! Years and years ago, from Sears, we bought the $500 lifetime subscriber before Sirius and XM merged and I'm so glad we did that as I have been listening to that in all the vehicles I have, including my BS! The best thing I like about it in my newer vehicle is I can access the extra music channels that I could hear in my 2015 Mazda CX5!

I obtained Sirius service in 2005 with their $199 lifetime plan, was able to convince Sirius to switch to my next vehicle (Sirius redefined lifetime from my lifetime to the life of the vehicle I bought Sirius for) but I no long have to do any convincing. The class action lawsuit solved that issue and I can transfer Sirius service from one vehicle to the next - either has been free or nominal $35 fee.

$500 - you must have purchased after the introductory $199 lifetime plan

Wow!! You were lucky to get it for that price! Ya, when I first went to switch mine the first time, they talked like that would be the last time I could. Then this last time, I did have to pay that transfer fee.

If this improves sound quality, I may go back to using Sirius. However, I never had reception issues. My problem with Sirius is how poor the music sounds at higher volumes.
