How much are we paying for transmission fluid drain and fill at the dealership/Quick Lane?

I literally traded in a 2026 Honda passport elite for my 2025 BSSQ because of many quality issues. The Honda was such a disappointment you wouldn’t believe.
Honestly other than looking at pictures, I haven’t followed much of the new Passport. I was going to buy a 2021 Passport when I bought my BS. The Passport just didn’t feel right when I test drove it.

People need to take in consideration that labor rates are approximately 100 bucks an hour now. I watched the video provided by an owner on here. I don’t have a sufficient safe lift you have to buy a small suction pump drain it and replace with new fluid. By the time you buy everything you need it’s already near a couple hundred bucks. If they do it it’s warranted work. Otherwise they can question it if you do it yourself. In my experience dealing with numerous warranty issues they fight most of them unless you complain to corporate. It’s always an exhausting process.
Buying all the equipment does at a lot of cost to doing it at home.

But for me, sometimes I just don’t have the time on my days off. I do enjoy working on my own but I also don’t have the time or tools when something goes wrong. I remember changing the coolant on my first car and the drain plug falling apart after I opened it. I had to order one from Nissan and drive an hour to pick it up. Couldn’t drive my car for a week.

Wow! Then you buy a BS that has a history of issues.
My brother has a '26 Passport Trailsport Elite and it's been fine.
Well, I did buy a 2025 Broncos sports Sasquatch. I have 3000 miles on it and I like everything about it better than the passport elite. I’m glad your brothers is fine but I’m aware of many of the problems the passport has. I would just say beware of any YouTube videos that think that the passport is the next best thing to slice bread. Mine certainly wasn’t in a lot of others aren’t. And the manufacturer doesn’t have straight up answers for some of the problems to fix them. As an example gaps in the front fender. The plastic window trim on the back windows. The air conditioning unit is ridiculously loud and a lot of them have whining noises when you are sitting at a light. Mine was replaced with a brand new compressor at 500 miles. The Honda application on your phone has had horrible connection issues. It is a 10 speed and spent half of its time trying to find the right gear as I was driving up mountains. Worse than my 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and not near as smooth as my BS. The only thing that I miss about, it was the fantastic stereo system in the elite model. This is just a couple of the issues with the passport.

It was roughly 260$ Cad.
Was quite dark i was surprised for its second oil change in 16 weeks of ownership and 7,740 km, first was at 2500km. I didn’t even think to take a picture of any of the fluids 🤦🏻‍♂️
So $260 Cdn is approx $190 USd, maybe you should come up here for your trans oil change

My previous vehicle was a 2013 escape sel with the 6F35 six-speed automatic transmission. This trans also had the 150k change interval. It was widely known to have early failures. I drained and filled the fluid 2x at 60k and 90k I traded it with 102k and it shifted perfectly. Our BSBL trans don't have widely known issues. I will probably change it at 60k since I drive within normal conditions most of the time. But a 2x drain and fill replaced more fluid than 1x. Just my opinion. Alan

Are you saying I should have done it twice at the 40k? I plan to do it again at 80k, maybe sooner to kind of get it back on a 30k mile interval.

Approximately 50% of the fluid is replaced with 1x drain and fill, ~75% with 2x, ~ 90%+ with 3x. The car should be driven around the block and transmission warmed up to operating temp before each drain. This is my understanding, I am good with 2x. I beleive my change interval will be 60K, 90K, 120K. Maybe 30K?

I was just told $500 flush and $900 to drain and refill due to more labor. Another win for older vehicles.

that seams quite excessive, it is about 80 to 100 bucks US in oil as it is aproximatly 5 qt that gets replaced in a drain and fill. then about 1 hour of labour.

I'd ask around. I think a simple drain and fill isn't what they normally sell or might be new to them. The other person was trying to add on a filter change which would normally make sense except on the BS, I believe you have to drop the transmission pan or something. Either way, it's a LOT more work.

Actually .. to replace the 8F35 transmission filter, they would need to remove the transmission and split in half

Best to find a dealership with an experienced transmission tech
