It is my understanding that the window sticker date at the bottom is the date the window sticker was created/released which is shortly before actual production begins. The build date is a little bit later than the window sticker date. In my case it was 9 days later. Since I ordered mine I was able to track the progress of my order through emails received from Ford letting me know each time a progress step was reached from order date to dealer delivery.

If you want to know your specific build date the easiest way to find it if you do not know it is to contact your dealer and they can look it up in their system.

Window sticker date could be the date when the car was ordered by the dealer. WAG
I ordered my BS on Jan 27, 2025 (my anniversary). On January 30, 2025, I received an email from Ford that my build date was programmed for March 10, 2025. I haven't found a window sticker yet, but I know they started building it around that time because I ended up getting it the last week of March.

That wasn’t the case for my build - I was able to get each of dates - see my post #15 repeated here with one added piece of info that Ford ESP tracks:

For my 2022, which I special ordered Sept 2021 at a dealership, the Window sticker date is the day all the parts were available and the vehicle started down the assembly line:

11/30/2021: Scheduled to be built week of December 8, 2021

12/03/2021: Build Date (Window sticker states: SPECIAL ORDER … 120321): the day all the parts were available and the vehicle started down the assembly line

12/05/2021: window sticker available

BUILD DATE: 12/10/2021 (Ford ESP)

12/30/2021: Build complete (not sure what this date represents but maybe includes any quality checks, Christmas shutdown, etc)

Plan on getting 2025 Bronco Sport
FWIW, I put in my Vin# to the NHTSA website. The website is supposed to be updated for this recall after 3-4-2026.

It shows no open recalls.

2025 Badlands. Build date 1-23-2025
I also entered my VIN number on that site and it also said no open recalls for my 2025 Outer Banks built December 2024.

I don't have the build date for mine. I bought it as a demo (meaning the sales manager beat the living shit out of my car, however, no probs so far). How in the world can someone find out if this applies to them other than wait for Ford to tell them or until the problem occurs?
If I am asking what everyone else is wondering, just ignore my post.

Suggest we just sit back and see when, not if our Sports are included.

I'm sure we will get notified by Ford. Keep driving it.

Since it's for Mavericks and Bronco Sports it must be for the 2.0 EB since the 2.0 EB is in both the Badlands BS and non Hybrid 2.0 EB Mavericks. So it wouldn't be for your 1.5 EB.

For the Bronco Sport it is both engines.

From Part 573 Vehicle Safety Report 26V122:

Vehicle 8
: 2025-2025 FORD BRONCO SPORT
Product Category: Light Vehicles
Product Type: Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle
Fuel / Propulsion: Spark Ignition Fuel
Production Dates: Nov 15, 2024 - May 07, 2025
Number of potentially involved: 12,860

Descriptive Information:

Ford’s team reviewed supplier process and maintenance records to determine the population of
affected parts. The Ford process is capable of tracing EGR valve production to the vehicle in which the Engine is installed. Affected vehicles are equipped with suspect EGR Valves installed in 1.5L or 2.0L Engines.

These vehicles are not produced in VIN order. Information as to the applicability of this action to
specific vehicles can best be obtained by either calling Ford’s toll-free line (1-866-436-7332) or by
contacting a local Ford or Lincoln dealer who can obtain specific information regarding the vehicles from the Ford On-line Automotive Service Information System (OASIS) database.

- 12,860 2025 Model Year Bronco Sport vehicles are affected.

". . . [P]arts are not yet available . . . " raises the question in my mind about my retail order 26 BSBL that I took delivery of in early Feb of 2026 (January build). On the bright side, replacement parts may not be available as all the later year 25s and new 26s have the updated/new improved/fixed EGR set up and are gobbling up all available parts. On the dark side, maybe they have not yet produced the updated updated/new improved/fixed EGR set up and the recall will be soon be expanded.

This recall also tells me one thing. There is no way to tell if all of those EGR valves sitting on the shelves in part stores or junk or good now.

If it was fixed via a design change, it will have an updated part # (usually just a bump in the suffix).

I incorrectly indicated "parts not available ". My letter from Ford indicates Ford is working on software for this repair and the software is not yet available. The remedy is anticipated to be available 9/28/26.

Thanks, that's not very reassuring. Six + months for a software update seems odd. I'm certain that Ford will respond with:

" . . . we have top men working on it right now . . . (Who?) . . . top men."
