This is my girl's truck and she is struggling with certain things with Sync 3. She cannot access the Sync menu while in CarPlay without unplugging her phone. She has some other complaints about it, but I can't remember what they were. She is familiar with Sync 4 from my F150, so when I asked her about upgrading it and she said yes, I was stoked because I enjoy taking on projects like this. I had already spoken to Jesse from Infotainment about a Sync 4 upgrade months ago and he told me they were working on it. When I reached to out him again a few weeks ago and he told me it was ready but not for public release, I quickly volunteered to be the guinea pig.Looks like an exciting upgrade!
I normally would jump on this but I have to ask..
Besides wireless CarPlay, what would I be gaining? I'm not a fan of wireless right now. And I almost exclusively use CarPlay.
There are also a few things I have tried to configure with FORScan that do not work on Sync 3. I am hoping with Sync 4 I can get them to work. Sync 4 presents itself nicer overall than Sync 3. For me (well, for us), it will be well worth the upgrade, but not everyone will think the same.
