Reached into the engine compartment to clear some leaves and the sharp edge of metal sliced my hand and required a tetanus shot. Contacted Ford Motor Company and the immediately sent me to my local dealer to document the issue. All agreed that it is extremely sharp and any one or technician can easily cut themselves. Ill keep you posted regarding updates. Body shop suggested some sort of edge cover. It is on both sides of this upper section .

There isn't a single time I stick my hand in the engine bay where I don't come out bleeding. Better safe than sorry, I guess, but a tetanus shot seems to be a bit extreme.

My hands and knuckles are covered in scars from refusing to wear gloves while working on cars. Comes with the territory.

Tetanus shot definitely a bit overboard with a small avulsion like that. Especially on new clean metal.

Last time i had to get stitches for something, they wanted to give me a tetanus shot but only had a combo tetanus whooping cough shot. I waited for them to get just a tetanus shot only and was interrogated about why i didn't want the whooping cough one. They tried to scare me saying my jaw could lock up without a shot and there wouldn’t be anything that could be done if that happened. Had to sign a release. That was years ago still no lock jaw. Or whooping cough for that matter.

I get the same hard sell with flu shots. Only time I get sick is when I get the shot. When I skip it, I’m perfectly healthy though the season.

My Brother,SIL and Niece had the same problem. They all got the Flu Shot one Year and all of them ended up having the flu 2 times in the same flu season.

Well it is an engine compartment..........things might be hot, greasy, or sharp. Use due care?
And IMO doesn't really look that sharp looks like it's round on the corners to Me?

Same here, I hate wearing gloves when working on my vehicles. I have been working on cars & trucks for over 50 years & cannot count the amount of time I have been cut, scratched, burned, drew blood & even restored a couple rusty cars & have never had a problem. Even had to get stitches once from a greasy engine block.

I have worked on cars for around 60 years and you can get cut on a lot more than this. I don't think FORD will make a recall out of it, but it was nice of you to tell them. Those Customer Service Reps need to keep busy. Sorry, but if your wrench slips, will you call them then. This is the first time I ever could not believe a post was real and not a hoax. My first car was a 1960 T-Bird and it was sharp everywhere. LOL
