โ€ฆ One such category is quality and reliability, an area where the (2025) Bronco Sport scores a phenomenal 88 out of 100.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4, on the other hand, only manages 77 out of 100.

Quotes:

* "Offering impressive build quality, long-term dependability, and lower-than-expected ownership costs..."

We're talking about 2025 models that are at most about 1 year old. How can long-term dependability and ownership costs be known?

* "Ride quality remains smooth and composed, making it equally suited for city commutes or long highway drives."

Unlike those 'lesser' vehicles that are only good for city OR highway driving...

BTW, speaking of ride quality, our 2022 BS does not handle pavement imperfections, let alone potholes, well. Much of the impact is transmitted to the cabin. That is especially strange since the BS is supposed to have a softer suspension than other trims. Tire pressure is 33/33 psi.

* "Average Ten-Year Maintenance Costs: $9,461. <snip> They estimate that the RAV4 will cost around $6,007 over ten years."

So, the BS costs an average of $3,450 more? That's not "lower-than-expected ownership costs."

* "People who bought early model years of the Bronco Sport would definitely not agree that it is reliable, having to send it back in to Ford over ten times. We don't blame them."

Those quotes aside, the gushing prose reminds me of the big 3 car magazines I subscribed to for decades. One thing that was funny was how they'd often trash the previous model(s) of a vehicle, which they had heaped praise on the year before. "Forget THAT POS, we didn't know what we were talking about when we gave it a glowing review a few months ago. The new model is much better. Your best bet is to hope the dealer will take yours as a trade..."
