Wondering if anyone else has had a slight but persistent oil leak. Dealer said it was timing belt cover and oil pan and resealed both. Soon after they resealed the oil pan. Now it’s the third time. I don’t think it’s losing much at all but shouldn’t the underside be clean?! 21K

When the dealership "resealed" the leaks, did they just smear RTV on the outside?

Looks like it's leaking somewhere and blowing back while driving.

1. Clean it off with some degreaser compatible with plastic engine parts
2. Add some UV dye to oil
3. Run engine without driving
4. Use UV light to trace source of oil
5. Show evidence to dealership

It’s sad that this is a persons best bet to have a dealership take this type of concern seriously. You’d think steps 1-5 would be a technicians first thought when diagnosing

What's worse is an auto manufacturer can't design or produce a vehicle that will last 21K miles without having massive oil leaks.

My understanding is the plastic oil pan drain plug can be a source of oil leaks. From what I read, some shops will not perform an oil change without replacing the drain plug. Not sure if that is the OPs problem.

They removed parts and “resealed”.

As in, you think it’s coming from the transmission?

I should’ve noted mine is 2.0L.
