This seems like it should have an easy answer / explanation:

Back before LED - when the turn signal inside the cockpit started flashing quicker it was an indication that one of the bulbs was burned out (either the front or rear).

On my '21 Bronco OB, when turning on the RIGHT signal it is doing the same (flashing fast / double speed). I checked the outside assuming that one of the LEDs failed but all seems normal (both front and rear flashing normally). I checked LEFT and the 4-ways. LEFT and 4-ways all working normally (both inside and out).

Summary: All outside indicators seem to be working normally. Inside LEFT and 4-way indicator normal. But inside, the RIGHT indicator is flashing double speed. What am I missing here?

Having a fast blinking turn indicator has happened to a number of people here including myself, it's typically caused by one of the brake light bulbs being bad.
When replaced the fast blinking will stop.

I had this happen with my 2023 BL. Although the running lights are LED, the turn signals & brake lights are not LED on my vehicle. The bulb is a dual filament bulb and, in my case, it was the brake light filament that went bad. I couldn't source a bulb at a local parts store so I picked one up at the dealership. It was an easy fix.

No expertise implied or expressed.

Check the brake light above the rear hatch. I think that if that one isn’t working it, too, causes the rapid flash.

Pray that isn't it. $170 online and a bit of a PITA to replace. Also not sure how embedding the rear washer in it was a good idea.

I have this... it's the brake light housing unit. Not covered by my Gold certified whatever warranty because they code it as lighting when it's actually electrical. Dealer said $1400 fix. I can deal with the tone being irregular. Light works.

Yep - it was the brake light bulb. Thank you everyone.

In my last Ford, when the brake light went out it would flash BRAKE on the dash when stepping on the brake. I never expected that the turn signal would indicate a brake bulb. But makes sense, I guess. Oh, and I thought all the lights were LED.

Anyway, $10 bucks for new bulbs and about 30 min to R&R both tail lights. The worst part was waiting for Amazon Same Day Delivery for the bulbs - they didn't show up until 9pm!
