I have a 2021 BL. Currently it's running BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires sized LT245/65R17 . They're near the end of their life. They are great except the car is REALLY loud with them- louder than any trucks or other vehicles I've been in with offroad tires. Is this a BS thing? If not, any recommendations on other offroad tires that might be any quieter we could put on in their place? I was looking at tires but they don't have ratings that I can see for road noise. I found few reddit forums listing tires but curious what this community has to say about it.

I test-drove a new Passport Elite with General Grabber AT Sports, and even at 35 MPH, they were pretty loud.

You may want to consider the BFG Trail-Terrain series. They seem like a fair balance between on- and off-road and should be a fair bit quieter.

The new Goodyear Territory RT tires on the 2025 Sasquatch models are noticeably quieter than the KO2's. My buddy has the KO2's on his 2023 Badlands and it is definitely nosier. The Sasquatch tires are a 235, but I measured the height of them vs the KO2 in a 245 that the dealer had on a Big Bend, and the tires were the same height. They say the Sasquatch tires are big for their size. I have been very happy with them on the highway and off road. I don't think they're quite as solid/bomb proof as the KO2's, but with the lighter vehicle I am thinking/hoping they are solid enough. They have a good tread pattern. You might want to test drive a 2025 OB or BL with the Sasquatch package and tires to see for yourself.

KO2s are notoriously loud.

If you want something quieter, look at more or less any other AT tire. You'll hear Falkens mentioned a lot, and they're great, but personally I really like Toyo Open Country ATIIIs for this exact reason. They're a very quiet tire on the road, while still holding up quite well off-road. They'll be heavier than any of the OEM/stock options, but lighter than KO2s.

At any rate, the loudness is a KO2 thing more than anything else. It's a very old tread design at this point. More or less any AT tread pattern from the last 10-15 years will be quieter than a KO2. They're still a great tire and have a following for a reason, but noise has always been the thing that they didn't even try to avoid. If you care about noise, stay away from KO2s, though I do hear good things about the newly released KO3. (do they even make those in a BS size, though?)

LOL! I can see why a sonarman on a 726 class would have an aversion to noise!

I believe the KO2's are a light truck tire (LT). Passenger car tires are generally more flexible and quieter. I had KO2's on my Jeep Liberty and they were great. Driving fast on gravel roads was giving me lots of flat tires with the passenger car tires it came with. Only flat I ever had after that was a rock punctured sidewall after airing down the tires.

I was worried about the Falkens my BS came with, but they have been fantastic both on and off road. I'm deaf, so I can't tell you haw noisy they are. I just take out my hearing aids.

www.tirerack.com has a pretty comprehensive review system, including reviews from owners. Tires are rated on a variety of attributes, including road noise. You might find what you're looking for there.

I like the Falkan Wild peaks.Very quiet to me & much quieter than the Pirellis that came on my BL.
For an agressive tire the Wildpeaks are the quietest I have used. The OE AT3W were quieter than the AT4W that I replaced them with. Most importantly, they wear evenly as opposed to the BFG and Coopers I have run in the past, once they start getting that sawtooth pattern in the tread they get really loud.

I had BF Goodrich Trails on mine, Weren't worth sh (you know the rest) in mud. Weren't bad in snow unless it was the wet heavy (and deep) which I typically encounter in WNY. I had Mickey Thompson Baja's on my CJ5 and F150, I never got stuck so I went with their newer Baja Boss in 245/65/17. It doesn't sound to me as though you get into anything soupy, and as you mentioned you wanted quiet (which is not synonymous with any off-road tire I'm aware of) , go with what came with it

The stock Pirelli Scorpion ATR's are very quiet but not much of an off road tire. There's the trade off with quiet. They are not available in a 235 or I'd probably buy a set..

Mine aren't quiet at all with 1800 miles on them & they really aren't an off road tire thats for sure.

I don't have 1800 miles on them but they are quiet to me compared to the Passport's General Grabbers.
