I use Apple Music because it’s bundled with iCloud storage. But there’s also Spotify, Pandora, and probably several others.

As far as connectivity, you can use CarPlay, android auto, Bluetooth, or just an auxiliary cable.

Mine does throttle back, I just can’t recall to what & after how many gigs though. I had I think 2 or 3 gigs up until a year or so ago when data plans finally caught up with the 2020s Here. I’ll have to check out Apple Music more. So far I just have my normal iTunes songs on my phone which is good for a quick city trip but wouldn’t cover drive time to go very far.
Based on your description it sounds like you have a cell phone service plan with a limited amount of data allowed per month

Check your cell phone plan - sounds like you do not have an unlimited data plan? (unlimited data per month)

Also, usually it is an unlimited data plan which may (depending on the unlimited plan) throttle back the data transfer speed when a data amount limit is reached in a month (even in the unlimited plan)

So if you want to listen to Apple CarPlay for an unlimited time per month you would want to have an unlimited data plan if the cost for that plan is not cost prohibitive to you

Then if you do get the unlimited data plan, ask the cell service plan provider (e.g. Verizon or whatever) if they throttle back the data speed during the month (can cost extra for the provider not to do that)

Finally, whenever you are on WiFi, you can download songs and even entire albums to your iPhone so that music is stored locally on your iPhone - that way even when you have a limited data plan and exceed the data usage for a month, you can listen to all of your Apple Music that is stored locally on your phone - you don’t even need a cell phone signal to do that

yep, I do that with Qobuz. I’ve downloaded hundreds of hi-rez songs and dozens of albums to my iPhone and play them through Qobuz on CarPlay. The music sounds so much better than the car radio or Sirius, which I can’t even listen to, it sounds so bad.

Yes I think I pay 12 dollars a month.. I tried Apple Music for a few months and ended up staying with Qobuz. It has a better selection of my kind of music, and sounds a little better on my home stereo.

Thanks, just saw the plans and there’s a 30 day free trial. I’ll give it a whirl.

Good, it’s worth a try. My son still likes his Apple Music. It’s more connected to things I guess. Things I don’t care about, being an old fart. lol

Have y'all seen the 2026 Passport? Especially the TrailSport trim? It's a little tempting, especially coming from Honda to Ford.

I do love my BS, though. For my next vehicle, it may be a BS BL, Bronco, or the Passport.

That front reminds me a lot of the late 90s Nissan Pathfinder. They may have had a plastic thing on the hood, too.

But I do see a lot of Bronco Sport in it. It's a good looking, fun little SUV!

I like it. Exterior and interior looks nice. Just a few things I’m not a fan of. The ground clearance is pretty horrible. 8.3 I think it’s low! The put a lot of under body cladding but still that’s low. And v6? I know some people love v6 engine for simplicity but I can’t live with gas mileage in 19 in the city. I prefer the bronco sport for my use. However I do acknowledge bs is smaller and may not be for family of 4.

Has anyone done any light/moderate off-roading in the Passport yet? I’d love how it compares to a BS or Subaru.

My stock OBX + nitto nomad tires is so surprisingly capable and we’ve done so many trails without issue. I’d be sad to lose out on that!

I think the Passport would be comparative to the BS. It might have a little more ground clearance and Honda’s AWD system is supposed to be one of the better ones without going full 4X4. It is larger which would be nice to carry gear but may be harder to navigate smaller trails.

I don’t know if there are any YouTube videos yet though.

I've been doing a lot of research into the 2026 Passport TrailSport Elite lately, as my BS will be in service until early July (no exact date yet). I thought i'd list out a few observations in case anyone else was cross shopping.

Ford vehicle colors are simply the best. They're eye catching and the metallic really shines. The Passport looks great in photos, but they were pretty lacklustre when viewed in person. I was most interested in the Ash Green, but it was definitely a heavy emphasis on the "Ash" and the Sonic Gray looked blue in photos but did not pop against the sea of white, gray, and black vehicles. I haven't been able to view the Sunset Orange yet. The Ford cyber orange is hard to beat!

The Passport really is like if a Bronco Sport and an Explorer had a baby. I've been driving a 2025 Ford Explorer rental and it's so comfortable and way smoother than the BS. The Passport isn't as comfortable as the Explorer, but comes close. I definitely like the dials and button placement of the Fords a lot more, but maybe that's because it's what i'm used to by now. I like the Gray-Brown interior of my BS OBX more as well. It definitely feels like the Passport tried to do something similar, with their brown interior, but it looks more patchwork. The gray interior is really nice though.

Cargo room is definitely the selling point. The Passport is definitely a larger SUV and way wider & longer than the BS. I think the length is a tad shorter than the explorer, but it's hard to tell side by side. I do a lot of dog events so i'm always looking for more room for the dogs.
