We had a chance to test the cheapest off-road package (Big Bend Black Diamond) vs. our Badlands with Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws. The results were probably not too surprising:

Better to keep this thread active IMO, as it's your video. Great rundown in the video.

For those that still doubt the Bronco Sport's off-road cred, there's this:

Do the best model. The Sasquatch badlands this is much better the the regular badlands model.

I can't watch right now. Can someone tell me how they compared?

I've always thought BBBD is the best package for someone unless they really plan to go off-road.

If I had no plans for off-roading, I would’ve gone for the Outer Banks. Hey, I’m getting on in years and like a bit more luxury in my old age. But since I fully plan on some serious back country exploring here in AZ, the Badlands Sasquatch was kind of a no-brainer. The Big Bend was just too much of a downgrade from what’s available to justify replacing my current ride as it is, with or without the Black Diamond package.

Sure. The BB is slower, has less articulation, and can’t go uphill and over big rocks as well as the Badlands. The BB had street tires while the Badlands had A/T’s for the tests. BL has more goat modes.
A revelatory video.

Now don't get me wrong.... I'd love a BLS. But for me in South Texas where there aren't many trails and a sandy beach is pretty much all I have, BBBD meets my needs and most BS owners.

I totally get you. Maybe I was just rationalizing at the time, but it started with a choice to get the nicest thing in my budget and lifestyle for our retirement years. Then I justified it by coming up with a use case afterwards.

Plus, I didn’t get to pick the last two cars, so…

While the results are probably not shocking to anyone that's done some research, I think it was worthwhile to have the different capabilities detailed.

When I was shopping, I didn't plan on doing anything really hard core off-road, and considered a Big Bend, but after doing a lot of research, I felt that the Badlands was a better fit for me. I think if a video like this had been available when I was looking into it, it would have saved me some time.

exactly! If you are doing the kind of off-reading that is shown in the video every weekend…please go and buy yourself a Bronco.
