I've wondered the same thing -- dealers are adding ADM to the sticker price of vehicles on their lot -- and getting it (or at least something over MSRP) -- so why not do the same with orders?Best thing that can happen for the dealer is for customers to walk on retail orders. They can charge what the market will bear at that point..
On a side note, I'm curious that they don't try to negotiate a higher than MSRP price at the time of order. It's almost like Ford has a policy or something.
All I can figure is that Ford is really pressuring the dealers to hold to MSRP on all orders, but apparently they do not care much how dealers price in-stock vehicles.
