Just wondering why you would do this? I know that while out on the trail you will want to air down and then back up when off trail. It just seems weird to me that anyone would carry a long air hose versus a standard pump with the 12V plug that has a short hose but long cord. Given that the BS has 120V outlets, you could even carry a larger pump and use that for power but that seems like too much to carry too.

Nice work on the bracket, btw. When I first saw your post I was thinking it would just be a storage thing. A nice place to keep the pump handy but out of the way. I am just curious, not being critical.

My guess is to save on cargo space and it is less setup and put away time.
Those ARB compressors typically have more capability on than the run off the mill portable compressors so they air up faster.

Hose hits all four tires and stores in a 12"x3"x3" bag which is not that big a deal.

I'm considering this as well. Why? Because it's convenient. You have to prioritize inside storage based on weight, size of the item, and access. Having the compressor hard mounted eliminates one item from the prioritization list. It's safely stored under the hood, and you don't have to move anything to get to it if you need it.

Thanks, and no offense taken.

This will free up a bit of space, as others have noted, but the main reason is these pumps that hook straight into your battery can air up a lot faster than those that plug into a standard 12V outlet. Those outlets are fed with long lengths of small gauge wire so they can't pull a whole lot of amperage. It's better to have short, heavy gauge wires and a long hose than long wires (of any gauge) and a short hose.

As far as use-case, airing back up coming off the trail is part of it but also to air back up when I have to fix a flat. I can't fit my spare in the back anymore and I'm not going to carry my hitch-mount carrier for daily driving. So I'm carrying plugs and a compressor.

Nice work I might have to copy it, if I don't decide to pry to put one under the seats
I'd be interested to see how that turns out. I'm not entirely sold on the engine bay. I have some heat concerns...

I'm half way done with my own air up down system( diy sponsored by wifey syste) I just need to see how much space I have for the compressor.

Got 20% tint on the front to match the rest of the windows. Added the factory crossbars that came with the BS. Was going to get different ones but figured I’d try these out first as I already have them. Also added the Bronco door sill guards from Ford. Have the vinyl letter overlays to put on soon once I’m feeling diligent enough to take my time doing it. I highly recommend the tint to anyone that hasn’t done it yet. Looks so much better. Picture doesn’t do it justice.
