Ford Rubber mat driver side extension

I like the Ford rubberized mats. They honestly look nice and are effective OUTSIDE of the fact that the drivers side doesn't extend up under the gas pedal area.

It makes no sense why they would design it that way....but regardless they came with the vehicle and they do look nice...

I was wondering if any one on here would be able to 3D print an extension piece on the top side of the mat that would cover under the gas pedal and maybe even extend that whole side up some ?? then it could be riveted onto the existing mat

It makes perfect sense once you know that Ford was sued when floor mats it sold were blamed for interfering with the accelerator pedal in a customer’s car causing an “unintended acceleration” event.

The Husky liners go up the firewall behind the gas pedal. I’ll let you know how well they fit in a few weeks.
