My Sport just started the squeak when backing up. I have a December 2020 build.
My wife’s is a December 2020 build as well. It doesn’t seem like they have those in that letter though? Mine is a September 2021 build. Both have the very awful reverse FOG HORN sound with braking

I'm wondering if they will expand the recall. My Sport is kept in a heated garage. So the breaks should be dry when I back out. And, one time I had been driving for a while, overshot my turn. When I backed up I probably scared people a mile away. I guess we wait and see.

Even if they don't expand the recall to include additional vehicles, once Ford issues a remedy to dealers, you might want to take it back to the dealer and attempt to have them fix it under warranty for not being "normal", especially if the noise is as loud as you say. They should be able to hear it.

Thank you. That's the plan. I'll be due for an oil change and inspection in January. I will be asking them to take a look then. My husband did look at the rear brakes. He didn't see anything odd. We decided the dealer can deal with it.

For us it happens first thing in the morning. So I’d probably have to leave it overnight so they could hear it. It’s absolutely not your typical moisture noise though.

I've noticed it first thing in the mornings, after the temperature has dropped at night. It seems to go away after the brakes have warmed up some.
Yep, pretty much the same for me. When I first back out of the driveway the first application of the brakes is squealy....then it goes away.

Probably explains the rear brake noise while reversing regardless of rain/humidity. The sound is always there ?‍♂??
Exactly! We have the same issue. I thought that it was due to humidity, but that didn't hold up.

2nd recall on this piece of junk.
Recalls happen. I have Toyotas and would not consider them a piece of junk and yet this is a headline….it just means proper oversight. I remember when improperly installed floor mats in Toyotas caused the accelerator to get stuck. Killed a guy and his family in his Lexus. I will take recalls any day.

We are also living in an age where most of the parts of anything manufactured today is made from parts outsourced to other suppliers and not by the manufacturer selling the finished product. Gone are the days where an auto manufacturer makes their own parts for their vehicles and so they also lose quality control over those parts. So based upon LastBronco's statement, any car that has a recall is a piece of junk. At least vehicle manufacturers recall the vehicles to repair them, unlike other items that we purchase that then break and we end up just throwing them out and buying a new one without question.

And they don't recall when they don't install a hood blanket and an engine cover..... that's just too bad for those owners.
Why would either of those qualify for a recall?

So any vehicle with recalls is junk? Sounds like we have a super smart person around here that can help the rest of us dummies figure stuff out.

I guess LastBronco never had a vehicle before that had a recall. My Bronco Sport isn't the first vehicle that I've owned that has been the subject of a recall. However, I'm very happy with mine even though it took so long to get it. It wasn't Ford that made the defective part but I had to wait for Ford's supplier to get replacement parts to them to address the issue - which they did.

At least the recalls that they have been having aren't super major like the one that GM has with the Chevrolet Bolt that just catches on fire for no reason.
