Oh I originally had a production week of December 6 and it was then moved to December 13. Starting last week I couldn’t get any information on the tracker nor could I get anything at the Ford site. My sales person checked today and they’ve moved my production week to January 4. No explanation, it’s just been moved. I go to Arizona in the winter and I delayed my trip anticipating that I would have my bronco by the first of the year. I told her to go ahead and sell it if it came in before April. She said she was going to put in an order for another one right now in the hope that I would get it by April or May.

That really sucks. I can relate. I delayed moving because I was told I'd have my Bronco by Christmas, and now it might not be until late February at the earliest.

The lack of communication with this entire process has been incredibly frustrating.

I had a week of 12/6, then it was moved to the 13th, then 12/20. So we'll see what happens... I think if mine slips from next week, it will be pushed to January 4th as that's the next scheduled Bronco Sport build week. I think they're lining them up and scheduling production then as parts roll in the build what they can, kicking the rest down the line. I'm personally OK with some delay as I don't really need it until this spring. But I ordered when I did because of all the delays.

The reason for the production delays is that there was a defective batch of chips at the Hermosillo Plant that affected both the Maverick's and Bronco Sports. The original affected production dates ranged from the end of November to last week. Ford had new chips expedited in this week to resume production but that meant that there are now 2 to 3 weeks of vehicles sitting (AGAIN) waiting to have chips installed while they continue to build more vehicles. Due to the chip shortage, builds were shifted for multiple weeks.

I ordered a Badlands this past Friday and was told the lead time was about 6 months. Does that sound right?

Yeah, most likely between 4-6 months.

Huh, I had an original build week of 12/6, pushed to 12/13. Last week I got the happy email that it had been built and estimated arrival at my dealer is 12/31-1/6. Was I just lucky?

I'm right behind you, so I guess we'll see. I was 12/16, then 12/13, then 12/20, but got in-production notice on 12/17.

There are lots of factors holding up production. Chips, moon roof components, certain interior trim bits. No more orange interior for non-premium badlands now....

If my new '22 Badlands is as good as the '21 we picked up last May, I'll be super happy about it.

Hope all is well with yours when you get it! I know you've been without for a bit...

What’s the story behind the Badlands Orange interior? My least favorite part of the BS BL.

Our salesman told us there was no longer an "Area 51" interior option -- orange only, on the non-premium Badlands (even though it's still listed online).

I hope you're correct, but a second salesman at a different dealer (in Kansas) confirmed 'orange only'.

Yep, Me Too! Hoping for 4 months as I deleted, Moonroof, Mudflaps, Gray roof. Ordered Dec 2
I was told several items require a "second" finishing line (adding to delay), but who knows about that?

I'm with you. My wife and I were really bummed to hear that the 'Area 51' was not available.

If we were interested in more of the features of the premium package we'd go that way but we really aren't. Also, the photos I've seen show that even with the premium package, there is still orange on the door panels and dash.

Ford is lucky that the Badlands does not have much competition.

I'm wondering if we should cancel our order and wait until things get sorted out.

Hmm... I may have been misinformed. Ours is the Premium package with the roast/ebony leather seats. I just know that one of the cloth seat options was eliminated due to materials shortage. I had heard it was orange, but maybe I misunderstood and orange is all that's available.

It's not the bright cyber orange accents with the premium package. It's slightly metallic bronze color for the accents. Looks good with the brown/black leather. I would definitely recommend seeing one in person if you can. There are plenty of pics online I'll see if I can link one here or I'll take a picture of it in the '21 Badlands tomorrow.
